10/22 optics

I am looking for suggestions for a scope for my 10/22. I plan to use it 95% of the time for gophers inside 100 yards.

I am on a budget (under $150) and would like to find one in silver color.

Hell I have a $50 3-9x Bushnell Rimfire scope on my 10/22 and it serves it's purpose very well. I believe this model can also be found in silver.

Perhaps you might choose to spend a little more if it gets you anywhere, but I have had absolutely no problems with this scope. Doesn't feel cheap, has click finger adjustments, and seems to hold it's zero just fine. Clarity through this scope is also excellent.
 
It appears that the bottom end Bushnell scopes (Sportsman) come in silver, but the upper model (Banner -Dusk & Dawn) only come in black.

The guys at Wholesale sports sure don't recommend Simmons or Bushnell......but I would imagine they would be good enough for short range rimfire?
 
4-12 Banner would be a good choice IMO. Has the AO which would be useful if you want to try target shooting or just turn it down anywhere from 4-9 or so and you won't have to use the AO at all.
 
In that price range I would go with Meuller.

It works just like when you manually focus a camera.there is an adjustment ring with ranges marked on the front of the Ocular bell(front of scope)...you can sharpen your crosshair and/or your target from usually 25 yards all the way up..of course your eyesight will determine this...nice feature,but not an absolute necessity(sp?)

I think the best bet would be to use the 50 yard range and just do all of the shooting form there,that's what i do..don't really find any noticeable difference...I think the difference will be minimal anyway,atleast for my eyes it is
 
most AO's are not good at under 50 yards......as for brands, I like simmons for a low cost scope. Barska's are o.k. too.... Stay away from NCStar scopes, I used to carry them in my store and dumped them because of customer complaints and not standing behind there products.
 
Who sells Mueller optics in Canada? And how durable are their adjustments, I want to give silhouette a try and it requires a lot of adjusting.

Inside 100 yds, I would use a reddot or aimpoint type sight. Quick acquisition is probably more important than magnification. I have an old bell one on my 10/22, and it works good enough for me to pick off a squirrel running along a tree at around 50 yrds.
 
Bushnell 22 Rimfire 4x32 (fixed), don't go for A/O for 100 yards for hunting, or the same Bushnell .22 rimfire 4x9x32 will do it to, but I would go for the fixed one for hunting (if 100 yards and less), you will be able to pick them up in silver color and ....they will cost you less then $50 including the crappy rings!

x2, that is what I have on mine and like it thus far. Can't beat the quality for the price!
