Hi All,

Has anyone messed around with a Valtro PM5? I just bought one and am hoping to add some mods to it, but they're so 'oddball' that no mods are made specifically for it that I can find.

TIA,

- T

Didn't mess around myself, but bought one like this:

I think Dlask did the mods. :D

promac: I saw the first pic and thought: "WTF kind of top rail is that?" LOL

Nice scatterblaster, and nice filing cabinate handle...

I just bought A Valtro Pm5 too but mine is the 14inch non vented barrel with mossberg ghost ring sights. with the sights being mossberg put on after by Epps I think, I bought it their, can I put a scope mount where they drilled the receiver and add a red dot.

On a side not the Valtro is my first firearm I went to Epps looking at the Fabarm Martial and Rem 870 and found the Valtro much higher in quality and feel. This is coming from a un -bias opinion person who has never fired or really handeled a firearm in my life.

Love the Valtro so far and want to deck it out before the Zombie attack. Where or can we get modds...

I'm interested in a grip on the pump and a folding stock. I've seen the folding stock on the Valtro USA site:

http://www.valtrousa.com/shotguns.html

And the grip on the pump here...

http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh25-e.htm

I wonder if the grip is a modification someone did?

Say - how do you find removing the clip on yours? I had a heck of a time with mine (just got it today). Is there a trick to it? I've got the short barrel version...

I'm wondering if some of the 'universal' mods that you can get from Marstar would fit or could be modified to fit? Thoughts?

no ones really intrested in making anything for the valtro as its not a very well made shotgun.
the stock are track the frame isthe worst rought cash Alum i have seen in years and the porting is bad/to small as it just spitts hot plastic at you when the wad passes down the barrle.
But the sites are nice and the mags are well made.

promac...
is that muzzle break threaded? I wonder if i can get one like that for the grizzly 870?

Yes, its threaded, but it looks like the muzzle has been modified with a threaded extension - you can see it in the picture I posted. I think the same would need to be done to the grizzly 870. The muzzle break looks cool but its freakin loud! I'll be adding the ghost sights to my Dlask 870 8.5" and porting the barrel, but no muzzle break.

I bought the Valtro because I found the Rem 870 marine magnum and fabarm martial quality was not near the Valtro and the Valtro was cheaper by $69 then the Rem. The Valtro without the mag attached felt really solid where the Rem stock felt cheap and looked it. Plus 8 rounds in a 14" shotgun and quick mag changes are a huge plus.

The only thing that bugs me is the mag wobble. Recoil to me is fine, I could shoot this sucker all day.
I really would love to mount a red dot sight.

Badboybeeson quick question my sights are mossberg, is theire a mount which could fit into the holes were they tapped the recivere

here is a quick pic of the sights. if you need some more pics let me know and thanks . http://s287.photobucket.com/albums/ll126/nisser17/?action=view&current=007.jpg

wow i have never heard that before.now my impression of the valtro is the forend goes so far forward for one.no way of tactical reloading it.once you are done the last round the mag stops the action from going forward.now yes yes if you have spare mags okay then but i always look at the worst case scenario.finish your last mag now what try and reload a mag can be done but i will be laying out rounds while you are reloading.the action on it is worlds apart from my rem marine.while it is good the marine action is way smoother.the barrel ports are of no use to me at all just make cleaning it more of a hassle.the lack of after market parts is a minus.now all that being said.i still like the valtro and will be getting one minus the ported barrel.if it would have been my first choice um nope i love my 2 remmys.now dont get me wrong i still like the valtro i just dont believe they are better than remington at all.

I happen to have 4 mags for it... so that's not an issue, but I do get part of what you're saying. Unfortunately there don't seem to be any after market parts, which blows.

I'm thinking of picking up a CanAm Grizzly 870 once he gets more in stock. What other tactical shotgun would be recommended?
