Hey all,

I’m looking at the sbe3 compact but it only comes in right hand eject at the moment. I currently shoot a gas left hand eject. I once had a maxus that I shot left handed and had gases expel into my eyes on multiple occasions from the ejection port. Quickly sold it for a true lefty L4s.
Is this a thing with inertia? I understand most goes out the barrel but looking to see if anyone shoots a righty eject inertia gun left handed.
Thanks!

I shoot both inertia and gas guns left handed, right eject, I have never had a problem with either. I can’t honestly say I’ve ever shot a gas gun that I noticed any problem with expelled gases. I would assume it would be less with inertia, but you have just given me something to try out on my next range trip just in the pursuit of knowledge lol

I'm curious as well. I shoot left and my 3 right eject semi-auto centre fire have all given me gas and hot sprinkles in the face. I'm looking to try a lefty Franchi Affinity 3 or Winchester SX4.

It wasn’t noticeable shooting skeet but in the blind with the wind and larger shells is where I found it to be a problem. If you can face a strong wind with a few 3 inchers in each and let me know!
It wasn’t an ouch! More a damn my right eye is watering so bad I can’t see now lol

i shoot left handed and i get residue from gas and recoil operated guns it's not pleasant and could leave a person with i damage not worth the risk for me

Damn eh, maybe Il get lucky this shot show and Benelli will build a 3 inch with a 26 lefty again.. not holding my breath

As a fellow left handed shooter, I have never had an issue with this myself, but I am an upland hunter, not a waterfowler, so I do not shoot as much. I am lucky if I get into a covey where I get to shoot more than a couple at a time.
My RH Benelli Ethos is a 28 ga, as is my wife's Rem 1100 Sporting 28 (my 20 ga is in a LH Model 1100).
I am often on trails through the woods where the wind isn't as big a factor, but when I am out on the more open areas, I am not usually hunting in higher winds when the birds and big game are hunkered down anyway.

I wish Benelli or Beretta would make a LH 28 Ga!

Multiple occasions huh.... were you not convinced after the first time to wear safety glasses?

I am right handed through and through, but born almost entirely blind in my right eye, so I was forced to learn to shoot left handed.

With semi autos, just DO NOT shoot a RH firearm (rifle or shotgun), left handed, unless you're committed to wearing full eye pro when ever you are using it.

I had a ruger 10/22 blow up in my face once many years ago. If it wasn't for proper eye pro, I'd be pretty much blind in both eyes now.

Shotgun powder burns dirty, even with inertia, you'll still singe eye lashes, eye brows and get junk in your eyes by shooting a right handed gun.

The best option? What ever you currently shoot as a left hand, just order a barrel thats the compact size and run with it. All the big names of LH shotguns (benelli, beretta, winchester) will make a shorter barrel for you. Is it expensive? Sure, probably $1,000. But the best option for a left handed shooter.

I know I should be wearing glasses but I can’t get it out of my head the glare flares pressured birds, didn’t say I was the smartest. I did wear them at one point and still ended up with some sting eye under somehow. Gobig you’ve definitely echoed my thoughts exactly I’m going to wait till they offer the compact stock in lefty. Sorry I didn’t stipulate I’m going for a 20 gauge , options at this point are pretty slim

I just cannot imagine anyone shooting withour hearing and eye protection  both are mandatory at our range and I wear them in the goose blind, gopher patch hunting and any time I am shooting it's just common sense

Thanks for that offer man! I live in the ####hole province of Ontario. Wish I was up your way
Why do we feel we need to make apologies to others about being from Ontario? I don't. I didn't choose to live there, or does the fact that I grew up there (born in TO) make me a rabid liberal. There are plenty of good blue Conservatives there. Be proud of WHAT you are. Who cares what others think of your based on where you are from. Ontario is an awesome place in a lot of ways. GTA exempted.

A little FYI .... If not for the crushing guns laws we are subjected to, many gun owners, including those here on CGN, would vote liberal as well.

Go Leafs Go! :)

Another option is find a used M2 20ga LH. Stock is a standard LOP but yOu can change the recoil pad to adjust LOP. They offered them in canada with a 24" or 26" pipe. I picked one up used with a 26" pipe this fall and hunted extensively this fall. IMO, I took it over my LH sbe2 12ga just about every hunt this fall and its LIGHT.

That’s ideal for sure I’ve been looking steady for a few months! If you see one def shoot me a message. I see it can get down to 13 3/8
