Recommend me a saddle mount for my 870

Not interested in drilling and tapping. First thought was a saddle mount, but I'm also intrigued by the suggestion of a rib mount. Open to recommendations for rib or saddle.

Any reviews on the aluminum Sun Optics saddle mount from Tenda?

Too bad dude,
I recently sold my UTG.
It was excellent.
Still available I think but more expensive.
A gunsmith (or anyone really) can drill and tap your receiver for a red dot plate or a pic rail though. usually not too expensive.
If your receiver is tapped then the world is your oyster.

If you don’t want to drill and tap, a rib mount is actually a solid option - they hold zero better than the cheap plastic saddles in my experience. Haven’t used the Sun Optics saddle myself, but most guys seem to prefer an aluminum mount over plastic for anything with recoil. The UTG one mentioned above is decent too if you can find it.

Want a saddle to temporarily mount a red dot on my 870 during turkey season. Is there something better than the plastic Weaver saddles? Who sells it? Thanks.

I’ve got one of these Warne mounts on my 11-87 Turkey gun…putting one on an 870 back-up as well.

I'll second this. I've got the same UTG mount. It's a very solid aluminum, well machined mount. Here it is mounted on a Dominion Arms Cougar. I especially like the fact that the mounting hardware uses square captive nuts, made out of steel vs some others styles that thread directly into the aluminum mount.20251216_214206.jpg

Interesting, mine did thread directly into the aluminum.
Was never an issue tho.
Pretty burly and if u tightened it too much, it slowed the action anyway.
