I've been toying with the idea of getting a better quality 22lr bolt gun for squirrel hunting and blinking. My savages are accurate enough but I keep having extraction issues and savage has been useless in getting me quality parts

Looking for unbiased real world reviews of these 2 brands. Or others in under $1000 price bracket. The only cz id be interested in would be the 457 premium

Ruger American rimfire has been one of my favorites all around.

I've had bad experiences with Bergara centrefire rifles, and would never buy anything from them again. Their warranty service in Canada is good though.

Forget the Springfield too many problems. Tikka is the best bang for the buck, usually likes the cheaper CCi. Cz457 good from the box and lots of aftermarket parts for tinkering

The Springfield Model 2020 bolt action .22LR is made by Retay, the Turkish manufacturer better known for shotguns.

The Model 2020 looks nice enough and is less expensive than the Bergara. FWIW, AI says it's a "good value" -- a term that often has many meanings.

I picked up one of the sage green target units not too long ago, haven't shot it yet.
It's very well made, fit and finish is quite well done, everything is pretty heavy duty in the design, don't see anything that's going to break.
Hopefully i can test it out soon, trigger adjusted down nicely.

I have the same rifle. I'm also happy with fit and finish. I didn't like the trigger (found it didn't adjust down to what they claimed), but fortunately they take Remington triggers, so I replaced it with an old 2-oz one I had. Much better. I also relieved a small pressure point on the barrel, and bedded it. Like many rimfires, it's fussy for ammo, but once I found the quality ammo it liked, it shoots much better than all the horror stories I've read. Still won't quite keep up to the couple CZs I have, but going to try a PMA tuner next to see if that helps some more.
