I'm looking for something like in the picture. Found it on a US site but they don't ship to Canada. Only ones I can find here have the qhole on the wrong angle. I found one with push button QD but it doesn't fit my sling and on top of it it's build like a tank. Too heavy for Mossin Nagant, never mind my Tikka ;)

Seen these. Too long. I have 5 slot rail and need to keep the front 4 available for the tripod. View attachment 1061883
Replace the rear rail bolt with a sing swivel stud... cheapest and easiest. Make sure it's long enogh to capture a nut on the barrel side of the stock, and allow for a washer large enough so it doesn't pull through.

That is probably what you're doing with the custom stud solution... it will work well.

This is exactly my plan, except I have to make one. The original sits to deep in the rail. With a spacer it's too short. It's for Tikka so, M5 thread and no readily avaliable in an extended version.

You can get M5 extension nuts...
You can also get a riv nut that can come down from the top and may be able to reach.

This stud went into the original sling stud insert. The threaded bottom had to be longer than the original stud to compensate for the added thickness of the beavertail overlay and the rail. The top portion could've been shorter but I just wanted to be sure that the hole cleared the rail
After all, I'm in Canada so I didn't take the rifle to work to match everything in real time... Measure at home, make it at work adding a fudge (####up) margin. Well, I doubled the margin since I'm planning to get a chance to test it shortly... After all, as a Mississauga resident, I don't get to many chances to chamber a life round so, going up North for New Year, I'm not about to miss it;)
