Rossi LWC single shot

I would have been saying something about how long it took to actually get. Reason I hate preorders, store has no actual idea when they can get them in. Now if you can just make the time to get to the range and see how it shoots. For the money it does seem like a decent deal.
You just aren’t enough of a Contender junkie. Going to have to find you a carbine butt and you won’t have an excuse.
Might have some 38 spl. I can slap a TRS on it. But got 2 weeks to vacate and move, then work to the house I gotta get done before I vacate. So range is least of my worries.

You're right, I only owned 2. I was thinking getting a folding stock for mine, as its restricted anyways.

Okay, slapped a TRS 25 on it, and headed to the range. Sling stud bipods will not work with the stud included, that is also your take down screw.

I forgot my rest, so piled up sand bags and rested the forearm on my palm, used a light hold with a rear bag.

I plan to run 1-5x scope. Sunglasses & shade, may been a little issue with seeing the target clearly. For RDS I normally have a target with a white center, but had none in my range bag.

I had factory Blaser Brass case 125grn 38 spl, and some 161 grn lead reloads with 4gr on W231. My reloads, shoot about 5-6" higher than the Blaser factory

50 yard the groups opened up, but mainly because issue with seeing the target. I'll redo the test when I get better targets, and a better optic.

This was at 25 yards.

Very nice group for a red dot at 25 yards (the flier is most likely not a rifle's fault).
I've also put a red dot on mine and added a soft rubber slip-on recoil pad, now shooting 158gr .357Mag is fun. In my experience accuracy with .357Mag is the same as on your photos. It probably could be even better if the trigger was lighter.

It sucks than stocks for Rossi Tuffy can't be found anywhere in stores, they should work with this gun, and would probably feel better (for those of us who like pistol grips on rifles).

Thanks, I was looking at adding a LPVO. Do have a 4x not being used. Mostly bought this to shoot 38 spl. Then once a year or when ever we have a hunting rifle shoot 357 mag. Which we shoot milk jugs, cans or hanging cans. So an low power scope be helpful.

But yeah that flier was likely me.

I was thinking adding a rubber buttpad, not for recoil. But it was a bit slippery. Also extending the release to be more predominant.

I mean even if they make a fixed version of their folder. Makes the gun under 26" when folded.

But I'm not super disappointed with this gun.

WHHHHYYYY can’t they do this in 7.62x39
Good question. If Rossi introduced this caliber in this rifle tomorrow, I might be tempted enough to buy one the next day.

Speaking of which, does anyone know of a currently-in-production single shot break action rifle in 7.62x39 that has a, say, 20" or shorter barrel? (I ask because I might be selling a rifle in the near future and have some spare cash for a replacement to take its place in our safe.)

Thanks.

I'm unaware of any options for new production in 7.62x39.

Likely because most people would shoot steel case ammo. Likely breaking extractors or prying out cases.

H&R or TC never really made any of their single shots in 762x39.

How do the semi or full auto rifles overcome these problems and, whatever it is, why can't that be done with break actions? (Wasn't there a Baikal O/U shotgun / 7.62x39 rifle combo produced at some point? Did the rifle part experience the problems you mentioned with steel case ammo?)

Nice gun and scope, BT!W.

BTW, I think Rossi should offer a stock that looks as close as possible to the traditional, more or less brown, etc., wood stocks of times past. It could be "wood" from maybe the grip back and the forend. You know, to make it look as much as possible like a traditional single shot break action like the H&R, etc. Doing this just might prevent the bone-ignorant from flying off the handle the moment they see it and doing everything they can to get it banned.

The gas pressure and a piston slamming the bolt back. My straight pull SKS was a bit of a pain to extract. Sometimes needed to be kick started to eject.

Also doesn't mean they shot steel case ammo from it. Many people want stuff in 762x39 because the surplus of military ammo out there.

Looks good! Have you put enough rounds through it yet to say what kind of shooter these rifles are? If the twist was faster, it's fair to say my wife and I would already co-own one of these. One of the sponsors had them on for $399 recently...
Haven't shot it since putting the scope on 6 plus months ago.. Just got home last Monday.

Wouldn't change anything. They did it in plastic to be cheaper.

I mean the reciever is polymer. So what sense does it make to put wood stock on a polymer coated rifle?

You don't see Benelli Novas with wood furnature. They have the same polymer coated steel recievers.

I’d be cautious as to what is locking the gun especially in rifle calibers.

Most pistol calibers have less bolt thrust then 12ga .44 mag has just slightly more.
Just about every rifle caliber has more bolt thrust then 12ga.
A typical break action single shot doesn’t have much for lock up this can lead to the gun coming loose off face at some point or worse.

I meant that everything that is plastic on the gun would remain plastic, but the plastic color and texture would be made to look as much like traditional wood as possible, like some of the wood-like plastic trim in vehicles' interiors -- you know, fake wood.
