Slightly Disappointed.

I don't expect it to be anywhere comparable to a rolls royce in the gun world. Yes, i know its a mass produced gun and not a staccato.
If you buy a brand new toyota tacoma from the dealership, I reckon you will be a bit upset when it gets delivered with dents and paint defects.
I don't know any distributors that will pull a gun out of stock to inspect it before on line shipping. A small company maybe.

If this is the reception OP received after buying a Ruger AMERICAN, imagine the (nuclear) fallout had he DARED to purchase a CZ lmao it could've been their top model and if it arrived with a bent barrel it'd be all "that's what you deserve" and "eat shut OP" 🤣🤣 we're a delicate bunch, ain't we??

If I took that American out of the box and found that, I'd also be "slightly disappointed"...meaning that I'd look at those marks, run a finger over them and mutter "that's a shame"...and then clean her up and go shooting.

Don't ever buy a Norinco; the same individual gun could be described by one seller as "new in box, unfired, in mint condition" and by another seller as "numerous small handling marks and blemishes, good overall condition"...and they'd both be correct.

Of course, I've never specified or heard of a hand-selected option for Norinco, so...

They aren't open at the moment but I'll shoot them a email.

Hi xn liu
Thank you for your feedback and for choosing us for your Ruger American Ranch. We're sorry that you feel the rifle arrived with imperfections in the cerakote finish on the barrel and muzzle brake. You asked us to inspect for flaws before shipping, and while we did perform an inspection, it seems we missed these issues. Factory-applied coatings can occasionally have minor blemishes (common with many manufacturers), but we should have identified them and communicated with you directly.
This particular rifle was part of a special import run that required significant effort to bring into Canada—we worked through considerable challenges ("snowmageddon and 80 MPH winds" courier delays included) to make it available. As noted in our terms and conditions on the website, we do our absolute best with timing, but we cannot guarantee exact shipment dates due to logistics and import variables.
We always prefer that customers reach out to us directly first with any concerns so we can resolve them quickly and internally. Posting publicly before contacting us makes it harder to address promptly, but we're still here to help.
Firearms are serialized and cannot be exchanged, but please contact Irunguns through email at the address on the invoice, always including your order number. We can guide you through a Ruger warranty claim. We value your business and want you to be happy with your purchase.
Merry Christmas!
Best regards,
John

Did you do an unboxing video too!

Purchased a ruger american ranch in 5.56 from Irunguns. Was really excited about this purchase given the current availability of these things.
When I ordered, I called in to specifically ask if irg could inspect the rifle before sending it out. As with most factory applied coatings/finished, they tend to not be done the best, so I asked if they could look over the rifle especially the cerakote before shipping it to me. I was told not to worry.

After I unboxed it, I saw a gouge in the barrel. Then I saw a discoloured finish on the muzzle brake with what appears to be another gouge. I know ruger's quality isn't particularly good but this is on another level.

Shipping also caused kind of a headache. I was told my order would ship on a Wednesday but nothing happened until Friday.

Disappointed on this year's Christmas gift.View attachment 1062565View attachment 1062567

Hard to find that true when a quick glance revealed so much. And yes I am perfectly fine with “minor” blemishes on firearms, in fact I hav quite a few minor manufacturer blemishes on my other guns and they are completely fine for what they are.

The flaws here are anything but a “minor blemish”. As I’ve pointed out before, my surplus sks made in 1950s ussr has better made components and finish than what I received.

I was assured that the rifle would’ve looked over before shipping, that was clearly not done.

What I find hard to be true is people who badmouth companies and complain about things without first contacting the company itself.

Yet here we are again.

I am not perfect and mistakes happen, I don't expect companies or people to be perfect either. I always find it easier dealing with someone or a company by contacting them first and resolving it instead of posting it some place and getting their backs up to begin with.

I’ve tried, they don’t respond to phone calls nor emails and I felt compelled to post online in order for them to acknowledge, which clearly worked. They offered me rugers warranty.. something that shouldnt even have to be dealt with had they scanned the firearm for 10 seconds like they claimed they did.

You are being ridiculous.

Neither Ruger nor IRG is going to help you at this point.

This is a very busy time for buisness, based on no response yet, coupled with IRG saying you went online complaining first I would say they are busy and have not had a chance to respond yet. Not to mention staff likes to have holidays off too. So short staffed.

I have an issue with a product from a different company right now that is not cosmetic, sent out emails 2 weeks ago. Patiently waiting to hear back, but I'm not going public trying to give a black eye to them. I am giving them the benefit of doubt knowing stuff happens, they are probably busy from blackfriday and holidays. But I am sure being nice to them as well won't hurt us finding an agreement we are both happy with.

Champagne tastes, beer salary. Many dealings with IRG, they have always gone above and beyond. Of course, if I had any questions I would send them an email first and they would respond inside a day or 2. And as I try to be a decent person I would be polite about my query. Every purchase has come with a little extra something. If they opened every package to cherry pick the best when requested the next guy would whine that he received an open package or something. DĂ mned if you do, dĂ mned if you dont.. I side with IRG on this one. They offered you rugers warranty.. they seem to be working with you. Sounds like Ruger facked up, not IRG. Hope you can find some peace this Christmas holiday.

Irg has been active on this thread so they are aware. One email sent to me that is a copy and paste of what they repeated earlier. Doesn't appear like they are trying to remedy the situation
