25 Creedmoor anyone use it?

Looking for some feedback on the 25 creedmoor round. Wondering if anyone has shot it and what your experience is?

Better than a 257 Roberts and almost as good as a 25/06Rem. Some might argue its the other way around… debatable on paper, animals can’t tell the difference.

How can they compare the 25 Creedmoor to the 25-06 Remington? The Creedmoor is designed with a fast twist and shoots heavier bullets, whereas; the heavest bullet for the 25-06 Remington is 120 grains.

Heaviest bullet with a factory twist... For now...

They're making fast twist 243s and 22-250s and 28Noslers, so its entirely possible someone will do the same with the 25-06 at some point though, especially if the 25cal gains the kind of momentum the 6.5 and 6 creedmoors have.

It would be interesting if rifle manufactures will produce the 25-06 with a fast twist. It may cause confusion, as did the 6mm Remington. People having one built, I'm in the infancy of having a 25-06 built, but with a 1-10 twist, Bob Jury barrel.

Your dream 25-06 fast twist is just a barrel away. Or a 25 WSSM. 257 Roberts. Etc. I ran a 25 Souper years back, was a great hunting cartridge. Only 1-10 twist, but the heaviest bullets in 25 cal at the time were original Barnes, 135 I think. Could be 130. As for the 25 CM, I think the best thing about it is that it will bring us a much better selection of heavy bullets for our 25's. And thats a good thing, generally. - dan

Sorry, Dan, I handload light for caliber with all my rifles. I love velocity but accuracy first, plus I'm not a long range shooter on paper and definately not animals. I love handloading however, this old Fudd is not jumping off the wagon, into the lake, with the latest greatest. I killed this buck this past November shooting the 125 grain accubond with the great ole turdy-aught-six.

The 260 Rem was in the right ballpark but never caught on. I thought about jumping on that bus when it came on the scene but stuck with my 270 although I don’t have a 270 anymore. Lol.

Yup, even the 6.5x55 Swede, hence early 1890's, no need for that Creedmoor.

Yep, another superfluous cartridge that is no better than others, but they will market the snot out of it and convince all the newer shooters that all you need to do is pull the trigger, and whole species will drop where they stand. LOL
