Threaded barrels

It would aid in making a decision buying a surplus rifle if you were to state the barrel thread
the ones I have bought were either 14x1 or 15x1 it’s easy to find the thread size with a set of thread gauges and a caliper.
Just a suggestion

Commercial rifles in Sweden are threaded for suppressors.
The military rifles are standardized threads.
Being European, there's a better than average chance they are metric.

When you got 100s of surplus of guns. Not going thru all of them to to figure the thread.

That is like saying should know the base screw size.
 
I've dealt with intersurplus a few times now. If you email and ask about a specific rifle Denis will likely be glad to help you get clarity. I had the man disassembling guns to send me pictures of proof marks and he was very obliging.

The 22's are usually 1/2x20.
Rifles could be anything from M14/M15 or anything else.
Now...it is getting easier to find muzzle devices here in odd ball metric threads at least, so that's good.

I dunno. They spend the time to take half a dozen photos, list things like cracks and pitting and bore condition. Seems to me adding thread pitch to the listing would only add a very small amount of time considering they're already (seemingly at least) going over every gun.

It would be a lot of work to update everything that's on the site now, but perhaps they could start adding this to future products?
 
Thank you for the suggestion. We don’t often receive questions about thread measurements, so we currently don’t have a thread gauge on hand. However, I will look into getting one. In the near future, we’ll be able to provide this measurement upon request if you send us an email.
 
Wouldn't even need a thread pitch gauge. Just measure the major diameter of the threads, the pitches should be pretty standard. And if they aren't, then guys won't be buying a "off the shelf" anything to fit the threads anyway. And it makes it redundant if most are 15x1 and 14x1. No difference in pitch.

If anybody’s looking for something to screw on that barrel Sako uses metric thread in 14mm, 15 and 18
Not much other selection here in Canada ,

Yes, check Stoeger Canada for M14/M15 radial brakes, MDT/Insite/Cadex make M18 competition type brakes, I've ordered metric brakes from.Audere in Europe as well. They are out there, getting more common.
