Not a fan of that at all... I have seen guys with forend swivels, take them down flush and add an aftermarket barrel band swivel. There are several kinds available, some are split and either screw together or solder together at the barrel location of choice... others are solid one-piece and require removal of the factory barrel band sight ramp. I think if I was going to that length, I would lop off the barrel behind the front sight, do the one piece barrel band swivel stud and a new barrel band front ramp sight... to my way of thinking, the big bore RSM's really don't need 23" barrels and their nose-heavy orientation and handiness would be greatly improved at 20-21". Even my .458 Lott is nose heavy, the .375 H&H is ridiculous... Ruger really should have slimmed the barrel profile for the smaller bores. The barrel chop would not be expensive, but you would have to be OK with a 40% drop in the molested value... I think it is worth it. Hmmmm....
