Celik Arms .223

also you need a ridiculously long socket set with a 6mm allen key to unscrew the original stock bolt.
I ordered the last one from Marstar. Arrived boxed up and stock set came in a plastic bag with a smaller bag containing screws. I still haven’t put it together yet. It looks simple enuf. My only concern is that the stock is held/secured via the socket (in slides into) and secured by 1x crossbolt and nut so I can sense there will be some play? We shall see. For now, the set is in a Xmas gift bag under our Christmas tree 🎄
Merry Christmas All!!

What make of magazine?
The two plastic mags that come with the rifle are a PMag copy. They work or have worked for for me minus the minor issue I had on my first initial range shoot. The LAR 15 mag I used worked flawlessly.

I plan on doing another shoot when I can as I have recently since my last post installed the pistol grip/ extendable butt stock as well as installed a Firefield Rapid Strike scope. Get her prepped for some ‘yote’ hunting.

Have you had a chance to shoot it yet? What are your thoughts so far?

I haven’t had a chance to yet. I was hoping this week with the decent weather but with 50km/hr gusts today was a stop drop for me.
I’d like to try out a new stackable mag I picked up from P&D on the wknd. Next week looks decent.
I’ll try and get out.

Right on. Hope it’s a good time. Look forward to hearing your impressions.

Ok, Range report.
Weather - sunny no clouds no wind - perfect!
Temp - just before noon was -10 and warmed to -2 by 1430
Ammo - PMC 55gr FMJ
All rounds were fired off a Harris bi-pod.
First rounds were fired at 50yds to get on paper with new Firefield RapidStrike 1-6x AR style scope with Circle Dot reticle.
I loaded up a new Cross Industry 10/10 mag. First five rounds were flawless, flipped mag over , hit bolt catch and got 2 rounds off and JAM!
Double feed, I shook out spent casing and had to hold bolt back to remove damaged live round.
Enuf with that mag. Load up the knockoff PMags and my LAR 15 steel mag. I fired three groups of five at 100 and was pleasantly surprised with the groups from that ammo. It never grouped the greatest for me.
First five rounds were at CoM of target, next ten ends were top left small circle target. That was it for ammo that day.
I’ve since removed the pistol grip adjustable stock and put to OG rifle stock back on and will attempt to get back out when I can and will shoot out to 300yds.

Right on. Thank you for the report! Did you switch the stocks to test for performance purposes or comfortability?

I switched cause it was uncomfortable and can’t squeeze your best shots out with this setup (imo).
I just wanted to try it, it was neat.
I forgot to mention that the last five shots were rapid fire. Zero stoppages. It’s a fun to shoot but she ain’t light. But this wont stop me from slinging it on a walk.

You’ve been awesome, great insights. I appreciate it. I want to scratch that 223 itch, I was maybe looking between this or the Alcor. I like this one better, and in my research some people have said Celik Arms has confirmed this was manufactured to take 556 as well. That would be a plus.

Is there any way to shave down the weight?. If not it’s not a big, I don't mind some heft, especially if it cycles well and is reliable.

Thanks again. You’ve been very helpful!

There’s not a lot to play with for weight reduction other than scope rings and scope type I would guess. With this style of rifle being forward heavy you’d be very limited in taming overall weight with the other option of adding weight IOT balance it out.
On YouTube there’s an Australian 2K round torture test on this model which after a bit of research is what helped solidified my decision to purchase one. The fact that it uses AR mags and not some proprietary ones helped too.
One other thing I was considering is to switch the scope ring /base that came with Firefield scope for standard scope rings.
MTF

I watched the 2k round torture test you mentioned. Thanks for mentioning it. I think I’m sold. From what I’ve heard it’s a solid firearm. Thanks for the insights.

I placed my order for one this afternoon.
I already have the optic, many AR magazines, and hundreds and hundreds of rounds of 223/5.56.
Those Australian's talked into it :)

I also bought the extendable stock.
