That sounds like what I wanted/neededI just went with a Boxing Day special and got the 20ā 1:8 twist version.
Very curious to see what others recommend!

I have a 26ā 223 rem barre thatās 1:12 and is great for lighter stuff but when you get free ammo itās hard to say no. I hope it shoots well!Current barrel is a short 16" 1-9 twist so went to the opposite end of the spectrum for the new barrel. 1-8 twist is a great in-between for light and heavier.
Most 53/55gr bullets with H335. Wanted something heavier for longer range.I have a 26ā 223 rem barre thatās 1:12 and is great for lighter stuff but when you get free ammo itās hard to say no. I hope it shoots well!
Iād prefer something longer to try some ftr stuff but Iāll figure it out!
What did you load in the 1:9?

How much further are you planning on shooting ?Most 53/55gr bullets with H335. Wanted something heavier for longer range.
As usual, Dogleg speaks the truthPretty hard to go wrong with Varget.
Varget is a solid bet I would say but I keep mine for 6BR.Pretty hard to go wrong with Varget.
CFE223?Varget or cfe223 are my go to powders for 223
THEY say CFE223 fr the 85.5 and 90 sFollowing this, I am also curious about CFE223 vs Varget for 90 grain bergers?
Out to about 600ish meters. 80.5 seems to be a good option. How much further are you planning on shooting ?
With a 1:7 twist , people have been shooting F/TR using 80.5, and 85.5 Bergers well at 900 meters.
I have had great success with the 80.5's in one of my rifles in a 1:7 as well , my barrel is a 30" Kreriger however.

Anyone with experience with N140?
Varget seems like a great option but seems at times difficult to find. N140 I have seen all over.
80.5's will do just fine at 600Out to about 600ish meters. 80.5 seems to be a good option.
