Please, I want to borrow a barrel stretcher and a lumber stretcher. Epps + credit card - $106. Looking for a full length rifle with more wood to jack up and install parts.

Holy Grail trail...

Well, looks like you hit paydirt on that one!
Now, I think our quest will end in finding a CANADIAN stockmaker that would accept reproducing proper blank inletting for the various Ross actions and configurations.
THAT would be nice!:)

I called your supplier about those nose caps - you got the last one you lucky dog!;):D You've gotten the hardest stuff anyways, now to sit back and lose your life to the EE for the next 6 months waiting for a full length barreled action.

There are several Canadan stock makers who would turn you a semi-inlet if you have a pattern stock to use. Might not be economically practical though.

You know, the whole collectiong idea is NOT about economics... it's more about fun although I have to admit budget can be a serious obstacle sometimes;)
The problem with Rosses is that you have to find long enough quality walnut blanks and that is not easy.
About a year ago, one of my friends told me he bought some kind of replicator, thinking about putting it to use for some wood carvings.
I'm going to see if it couldn't be of any use doing inletting. Nowadays, the poor guy is trying to stop his cheating wife from scuttlebutting his business and living. Maybe that could help him save his skin.
I'll see.

Damn, nice find. My rifle is nearly complete - just missing the rear sling swivel. Not sure even if I got one if it would stay put, the hole looks enlarged :(

Some friendly advice, do NOT give money and accept promises from someone about to get divorced. The money will either be hers or a lawyer's and the work will never get done. Seen it 1000 times.

As for blanks, no problem. There's a massive walnut blank dealer right here in Ottawa. Finding utility walnut for milsurp blanks is no big thing. $100 or less for such a blank IMHO. It's the labor to make it into a Ross stock that will kill you.

That's fixable too. You cut a tight hole to clean it up, fit a tight walnut dowel and re-drill for the swivel. Should be an invisible repair if done properly. You're in Ottawa - go see Gunco if you're worried about it. Jason will fix you up cheap.

If anyone has a stock duplicator and wants to borrow a new, never used, unsanded 1910 Mk. III Ross stock as a pattern, I am willing to lend it out. Also have a spare Mk. II, but the handguards are the problem here...
Nope, NOT for sale...at the present

+1 on avoiding the divorcing drama. He might be the most honest guy in the world but it is her and her lawyer you are going to have the problems with.

I am not married but if I was ever going through a bad divorce I would just give everything to the Scientology guys(or any other cult with rabid legal teams) and let her fight with them.

That probably explains why I am not married.

I've reported more than once that Mike Kokolus in Dushore, PA HAS patterns for 1912 Cadet, MkII*** MkIII and M-10 Sporters. He turns out excellent work.Trust me on that- I know.
Good luck finding someone on your side of the razor-wire, though. Is it a 'patriotic' thing, or are y'all just afraid that an Order-in-Council will ban repro stocks overnight? For any CGN guys in the US, I have multi spare parts including original barrels, but nothing here can go north of the wire....Sir Charles himself would surely reach down from whichever particular region of heaven he went to and flick me on the back of the head if I did!

My sister and her husband cut down a walnut tree. I think I can get enough wood. I would rather find a Ross with the stock markings that still fits up to the band, preferably with a full length barrel. I could make a forend extension and handguard. I have a couple of prospects, would appreciate any leads you guys aren't folllowing up for yourself. Actually, it should be possible to program the stock contours into a CNC mill. You would need to mount the stock blank on centres and leave end spigots to cut away after machining.

You guys know about that stockmaker Mike Kokolus in Pennsylvania right? He can make you a stock...easier than reinventing the wheel and I see no problem with importing a wood set.

Edited to add, looks like Rossguy already mentioned it. I might look into it myself.

Volume buy guys?? :) Mk III stocks???

How many?
