New member looking for favorite places for reloading supplies

RCBS Supreme Master Reloading Kit. Buy once cry once. Just keep your eye out for the sales on this kit, don't buy unless it's on sale. That's my 0.2

And Town Toast and Gun Toast are both decent sites for used reloading equipment. But like everything else, use your common sense and double check everything when dealing with individual and private sale. Good luck

I’d be cautious on those sites as the prices can vary from ok to ridiculous. As an example I purchased some bullets from Tenda, another site sponsor, last week. The bullets were also listed on Gun Toast by two different sellers at 60% higher prices.

Prices can vary wildly even amongst sponsors so do your due diligence before purchasing. Lastly, if something works for you then try to stock up a bit as component availability has been really spotty in the last few years. For example, I haven’t seen 7mm 175gr Partitions, RL26 (or any of the slower Alliant powders) on the shelf for years now.

I see that all the time, but fortunately I've been in the online hunting community for over 25 years. And I believe I did caution to use common sense, regardless of where you're spending your dollars online.

If you need some 175g Partitions look up Ellwood Epps, all kinds of them and they offer shipping. As far as RL or Alliant powder goes, I'm with you there.

I will tell you what I believe you should buy instead of the RCBS Master reloading kit.
I will then tell you what I'm using.

For the press I would buy the Lee Classic Cast over the RCBS Rock Chucker.
The RCBS Rock Chucker is now cast in China while the Lee is still made in the USA and it is a superior press with a larger opening and It has the breechlock bushing so that you only need to adjust your dies once.
You can find it for as low as $260 from Higginson Powders #20998
On my bench sits a Forster Co-Ax and my very first press a Lee Challenger Breechlock. The Forster Co-Ax is nearlly 3 times the price of the Lee Classic Cast and I still use my Lee for bench priming and for low volume loading in conjunction with my Forster for improved work flow.

Hornady powder measure. Tenda has it for $160
It is similar to the RCBS but you can purchase a pistol rotor which makes it more precise for 20gr and under loads.
You don't need a powdr measure if you follow my recommendation down below.

Hand primer Lee Auto Prime XR #90230 $32.98 at Higginson you will also need the priming tool shellholder set #90198 $28.98 at Higginson.
The Lee Classic Cast comes with both a small and a large primer arm. If you want to prime on the press you don't need a hand primer.
I personally prime on the press but most people hate handling primers with their fingers.

Frankfort Arsenal Powder funnel kit #3594757 $50.00 at Cabelas. This is an excellent kit.
Frankford Arsenal Powder trickler $28.00 Amazon
for reloading trays get ones specific to your caliber. I have the red MTM one size fits all for most things or I 3D print size specific ones.
Forget the RCBS Lube pad I use Hornady Unique case lube. 1 small tub will last you a lifetime if you're only reloading those 2 calibers.

Everything to this point is $558

You still don't have a scale. You can remove the powder measure and powder trickler which brings you to $370 and add the RCBS chargemaster link for $530 for a total of $900 with an electronic powder dispenser.

I have an older RCBS Chargemaster which is my backup and an AutoTrickler V4 which i love but is overkill for a beginner.
Add a reloading manual or 2 and your dies and you're good to go
Some people will argue over which dies to buy. I have everything from Lee all the way to Redding sets at close to $700 I honestly can't shoot the difference . Get the Lee dies.

Where I find it
quibbling for a price is for coupon-clippers
If you look at the post above this one I mentioned that the Lee Classic Cast press is $260 at Higginson.
The only 2 others that come up with a Google search are Tenda at $319 and Amazon at $353 plus $80 shipping.

This is not the same as saving a dollar on a coupon at the grocery store.

I'm fortunate to have Higginson, X-Reload and Londero Sports within driving distance.

You've missed the best sale period of the year now, so, take your time and learn, grab a reloading manual like a Lyman or Lee, read it, learn about who makes the equipt. It's the accessories that add up in a hurry. THink about what you want for guns and what you may get interested in down the road. Where do you shoot, who else shoots there that you can talk to. Reloaders in your area will talk to you, show you stuff, help you out, local stores will help point you in the right direction too. There is a short sale period in Mar/Apr, not usually as good as BF/Xmas though.
