If by copy, you mean made by Ruger and sold under a different name, then yes.

They got rights to the Glenfield name when they bought Marlin.
Copies might not have been the best wording. Maybe i should have said re-branded but they look to be 1st gen Americans. That's not a bad thing as i had an American in .243 and it was a tack driver.
 
I guess with Ruger introducing the American Gen2 that went upmarket in both features and price, this is how they plan to keep the American affordable. By introducing no-frills version of the Gen1 that cuts down on their SKUs.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Stay in the budget bolt action segment, while still being able to ditch the whole gen1/gen2 distinction. I suspect it won't be too long until the American gen2 is marketed without the gen2 part.
