Hi guys, new to this forum!

I have a 2007 Norc M-14S and am looking at importing a stripped TRW bolt from the US.

Can I use the bolt assembly peices that come with the rifle? Should I order TRW bolt assembly peices as well?

Thanks for any input provided.

mine worked fine..... but had to trim a bit off the ejector spring and the extractor detent spring.... however..... your parts may not fit like mine did.... ya just never know

The real question is why you would skim on USGI bolt internals if you bothered to get a TRW bolt for your M14.

I was under the impression that the rifles besides the bolt itself were all forged or close to the same quality as USGI. I am replacing the op-rod guide and spring for USGI.

Would you recommend I change the rest of the bolt assembly out well?

Since we are on the subject, what about the trigger assembly? again I was under the impression that they were forged or equivlent to USGI.

My rifle is a 2007 stamped rifle, if that matters.

I appreciate the feed back from everyone, the wealth of knowledge here is priceless!!

Thanks again,

Kody

it has been my experience that norc bolt parts are compatable to the usgi bolts. with the following modifications.... the long norc extractor spring must have 4 coils removed from it's length and the extractor detent spring must be trimmed by 2 coils

i see no reason NOT to use norc bolt parts in your usgi bolt..... if they fit, they fit.
I have found the usgi chrome firing pins to show too much protrusion when fitted to norc bolts though.

The trigger grouping is good to go. They are still a military trigger so don't expect light trigger pull or really crisp breaking. The safety is usually a real b*tch to use but you just push it on and off about a hundred times and it ends up wearing in pretty good.

"...a stripped TRW bolt from the US..." It's an M14 part. ALL M14 parts are restricted for export by the U.S. government. It'll require the U.S. export permit that requires a Canadian import permit to get. Takes several months.
Read the 'Sticky' on the Legalese forum.

It only takes several months if you do it yourself
use an importer, pay the fees....smooth as pie

my last usgi m14 parts order just arrived. took 3 weeks from the time i submitted my items till they arived at my door.
my order consisted of 2 trw bolts 2 medium contour nm 6 groove barrels, new complete trigger assembly, 4 bayo flash hiders and a few other odds and ends.

finding the parts is the hard part.... using an importer to get them here..... smooth n easy
