BDC reticle question

Now that the Blackface ban makes it impossible to use some scoped rifles I have a reticle question.

I have a PA LPVO, SFP, 1x6x24 with their 5.56 BDC reticle.

If I mount it on my Remington 7600, a general purpose, 18.6", 0-200m pie plate sized target carbine and zero it at 100 yards, will the BDC hatches at 200, 300, 400 etc still be close given the trajectory of .308 150gr ball versus 5.56 55gr ball?

I realize that the only way to be sure is to shoot it at those ranges but I thought I'd ask before doing the rifle switch.

Any advice will be appreciated.

If you know the velocities of your two loads you could plug that data into a ballistics computer and compare the bullet drop at various ranges.

Type it in to strelok. I find it's pretty accurate for bdc drops if they have that reticle

No idea what the specs are on the 150 ball ammo but this is with the scope 2" high and .35g1 st 2750 sighted in at 100y

Most of the PA reticles I've seen cover both 5.56 and 7.62, it's a bit of a comprise and you have to sight it in and test on paper as you point out Geo.

With a Second Focal Plane you can also play around a bit with the power setting and make a mark if you find it matches up better for your use.

Sorry guys/ladies, it's the same reticle as above and I just pulled it out of the safe and it says 5.56, .308 and 5.45x39............
