Taylors and Co 9mm 357 Revolving Carbines Back in Stock

Double action=semi automatic so it would have to have a 5 shot cylinder like the 410 revolvers

hmmm, I had to think about that. Even though pulling the trigger performs two actions (cylinder rotate, hammer back & hammer release), I guess they could consider that semi-auto? Never thought about all my DA/SA revolvers could be thought of as semi-auto :p

oops, sorry - didn't mean to derail this thread. This 357 revolving carbine is still a cool rifle! Especially coming with an extra cylinder for 9mm ammo :)

Yeah, no. Double action is not semi automatic, a semi auto must perform some part of the cycling action by itself.

From the criminal code
semi-automatic, in respect of a firearm, means that the firearm that is equipped with a mechanism that, following the discharge of a cartridge, automatically operates to complete any part of the reloading cycle necessary to prepare for the discharge of the next cartridge; (semi-automatique)

Unfortunately the crescent butt makes my interest diminish. I can't shoulder them properly without them digging in.

I really wish they would stop putting it on these things and go with a far more sensible carbine butt

You don’t shoulder them. Butt is made to hook into your arm. Next time you have one try it and you will see it fits well. Originals where shot from horse back with one hand and butts where made to lock into your arm securing it.

How's the gas leakage issue on these things if your supporting the barrel with your left arm like you would hold a standard rifle? I've heard the 410 revolver shotguns can be quite bad if for whatever reason you weren't wearing sleeves

On my 44-40 the gas blow back doesn’t bother me. Keep hands behind the front of the cylinder and you won’t get burned. Left hand goes over top of your right hand while shooting.
Problem is people try shooting them like a regular rifle and they soon find you can’t.
Stock hooked into your arm.
Hands behind the cylinder gap.
And glasses are needed to deal with gas coming back at you. Once you realize how to properly shoot them they are fun guns.
