`You mentioned Sierra 107gr Is that for your 6br ?
If so the 107 gr pills seem to be one of the best go weight for the 6mm br class rifles
Nice group by the way
I have to correct a wrong (I made . I am using 105gr projectiles not 107. My BAD .thanks
. They say 107's like the br, bra and dasher but go to pot over 3000fps.
[/QUOTE]
I am sending the Sierra HPBT 107's down range at 2747 fps
When using the Hornady Aero Match 107gr I am driving them at 2815fps
At 1077 yds the dialled elevation for the Aero Match is 10.2 mil
And with the Sierra BTHP projectiles dialled elevation is 12.5 mil
Yes the fps is greater on the Aero Match so it would have less dial up compared to the Sierra but dial up is substantial .
The corrected G7 BC using AB Quantum for the Aero Match is .285
Corrected G7 BC for the Sierra HPBT is .246 . Higher BC # Makes a big difference for longer ranges .
Going out 1424yds the Hornady pills need 18.1 dial and the Sierra needs 23.1 mil elevation.
My turret adjustment is nearly maxed out at 1424 with Aero Match and I have to hold over target by 5 mils . Not the best scenario .

i did use 1 box of 107gr Burgers at the very start only because I was waiting on my shipment of Hornady Aero Match pills .
They shot very well and would continue to use them except for the higher price . When using high volume amounts $10-15 bucks per 100 make a pretty big difference to me .

I am going to state that Loading match ammo where one has to be able to benchrest agg where many 5 shot groups are needed when single a .250 5 shot group doesn't count, or shooting several 10 shot groups for score where the X ring ( or V Bull) is 1/2 MOA is different from loading ammo for hunting or simply shooting steel in non match conditions.
This is obvious to some shooters , but not others .

I've always painted circles at 1000 to make it challenging. Down to 3 inches seating .001 on bolt close with a fairly flat primer. This requires physically maintaining POA at the bench until bullet exit which becomes a habit that improves accuracy and precision with every other position hunting or otherwise.
Obvious to some shooters but not others.

With all due respsect, is it your belief that one needs benchrest accuracy to shoot a deer at 400 yards?

I agree ,I am Simply shooting steel so Match quality is not needed though we all want to shoot tighter groups that is why I am not paying the big $$ for Berger pills .
The amount I am at the range and volume of Components I go through gets expensive so using less expensive pills does pay off for me .

No, but the fussiness required to keep up with prefit accuracy becomes habit that helps with any rifle you pick up in any position.
1000 yard "Benchrest Accuracy" is represented by
a 5 shot target of 1.087 or
TWENTY 10 shot targets averaging 4.82

You're well below Mach 1.2 where transonic flight knocks the bullet around causing more error than the accuracy difference between colours.

I am pretty sure that the OP was not planning , intending, or did not want to fall down the rabbit hole of chasing benchrest accuracy or Fclass accuracy but was simply wanting to ring steel.

Can you please explain what you mean by "prefit accuracy"?

"Perfect" I am thinking ? You probable figured it out or your fishing :giggle:
First time i had ever heard of "prefit accuracy". It threw me, wondered wtf is he talking about. Then I thought maybe it's his autocorrect. Happens to everyone.

The interesting thing for you will be when you learn enough to know "perfect accuracy" doesn't exist. :giggle:
