3K what 22lr rifle to buy!?

I am following as well but its too chilly so put my rifle away until June. Although I may stick my old Bushnell scope and original stock on for some indoor shooting.

For those interested. The annie was nice, but it was not suiting the "requirements" lol.

I ended up selling it, got two tikkas... One in 6.5 CM and one in 22lr.

The 22lr is fairly stock for now (added a cheek riser and vertical grip). The idea is both firearms evolve at the same. Will likely get and MDT chassis for both. Likely a tuner for the t1x and go out ammo testing in the spring. The tikka's already have prefit barrels and an endless list of parts to customize with.

The idea of the tuner is that I can find a good shooting ammo and really dial it in to preform like an annie for about half the cost (if you dont count the chassis ect that will go on it lol) That and I also want to use the cheaper stuff (mini mags ect) for prairie dogs. Tuner might help the cheaper ammo tighten up a bit.

At the Mission 100/20 Metre shoots, CZ457's are being used in Factory and modified forms.
Tikka T1X has shown up occasionally but don't come back.
Probably this is due to not testing their ammunition sufficiently or the daughter beating her dad . . . LOL!
Anschutz 1710 and the 1712 are continuing to show increased numbers as factory and in chassis models.
A lot depends on how heavily you want to modify a CZ, where you anticipate the final cost to lie and how far down the rabbit hole you wish to go.
Did I miss what scope you you intend to install and the power requirements?

I recently bought my daughter a 1761 LH and hopefully she will get to test it this weekend. The scope is currently TBD but the Zeiss 4-16 x 44 is currently being considered.

I wont lie, the Colt/CZ issue thing DID impact my decision. I was NOT going to buy a CZ with a target barrel/chamber anyways as I do want this 22lr for volume shooting and cheap gopher ammo also.

From the reviews it appeared that the tikka's paired up with the right ammo can shoot just as well as CZ. If not, then ill spend 6-800 bucks and buy a nice heavy target barrel but that is NOT the plan. I think the Tikka trigger is better out of the box, both have the same modularity option. Also having a "big brother" tikka for it to mirror is just a fun concept.

I would not say I have a budget for this rifle, more of a time line. For the first few years it will likely sit in its stock chassis as pictured. Maybe down the road I change it up or get bord and put a target barrel ect. I would love to do some matches but the last few years have not been kind to my personal time so I did not want to go all in on a comp gun that I dont comp with lol.

The scope on the T1X is a scope I had on my annie, it seems to be doing very well. The cabelas "Covenant" it was on sale and was a good price. Gets a little dark at full power but if im at full power shooting for groups its a sunny comfortable range day.
Cabela's Covenant 5-35 power mag. First focal plane. MOA. It should do anything I need it to, from gophers, range day lot testing or a fun NRL event ect.

I do intend on picking up a tuner for it, it IS threaded so thats nice. It could help the CCI tighten up for the gophers or really dial in that match ammo that it likes. If it doesn't, no harm no foul, take it off.

I have a CZ455 with an IBI barrel. It outshoots my Anschutz 1710 consistently and the 1710 is awesome. But I agree, as much as I love CZ, will not buy another due to the Colt/CZ issue. Not a wise business choice on their part and they are now dead to me for new purchases. But will keep the one I have. For the 1/2" I have used various Anschutz, my CZ and my T1X. All are more then capable with good ammo and a patient shooter.
