Titegroup vs N320

Fun fact about N320... Almost no muzzle flash.

I did some low-light/flashlight shooting at TSE a few years ago, and it's surprising how little flash comes out of the muzzle with N320.

Just FYI, in case someone finds one at a better price than the other, possibly save a few $.
Hodgdon High Gun and Titegroup are the same powder, just different labels on the bottle. Confirmed by Hodgdon. (but please also look it up yourselves vs relying on some random post on a forum...)
High Gun marketed towards shotshell reloaders.

Interesting.

This is in pistols? Or PCC? Guessing pistol..... (I know PCCs have went the way of the Dodo thanks to our dreamy Liberal overlords but they were big in 2022 when this was posted)

I have tried N310 with a 147gr bullet but everything I read suggests it is not a good fit for 9mm (my own testing looked good but I put a hiatus on it because of the negativity around being on the edge for pressure etc etc).
Pistol. I'm probably at around a quarter million rounds at this point. As for not being in the reloading manuals - that's a decision each person needs to make for themselves and I respect their decision.

N320 is a much fluffier powder than Titegroup, so easier to spot a double charge. This is what a double, and triple charge of Titegroup looks like (bottom row) comparted to a double charge of N320. This was my 147gr 9mm load: 3.3N320, 3.4gr Titegroup.
I've seen more blown up 40 cal 2011s courtesy of sloppy reloading with titegroup than any other powder. It's not a bad powder for 40 - it's just one you have to be extra careful with.

I've also been using n310 over a 147 for the last 8 years, the gun is also fully tuned to the load, it doesn't work in some of my other pistols with factory recoil springs. I'm sure n320 would would great too, and it seems easier to find than n310, but it's worked great for me for this long so I haven't changed it up.

Appreciate the confirmation.

Completely understand the liability on me aspect - no issues there.

At this point I have done enough testing to suggest N310 minor loads are safe / good so I will continue with them. You are correct about there being no official load data and I all I could find on the inter web were naysayers (many of whom who had never actually tried it but thought it was a bad idea)

I just got some N320 and I will test them back to back (with TG too) but I suspect that N310 will be the winner.

Thanks again.

N310 over a 147gr is what I plan to use.

I have N320 and N310 so will play around a little. I have used lots of TG but I feel that the Vit powders meter better, they are also way cleaner from what I have seen. Gun seems to run a little cooler too (I have one that gets pretty toasty when you run a few mags with TG ammo).

I was using Clays for a long time and was was very happy with it, soft and very low flash, fairly clean too. Tried TG when ran out and couldn't find more Clays and wasn't happy with it, dirty, burns hot, sharper recoil. Going with True Blue now.

Very good discussion here. If I can butt in, any suggestions re N320 or TG or...? for 38 Super (Major, of course with a comp.)
Both powders are wayyyyy too fast for a comp'ed racegun. The powder is all burned up before it gets to the comp so the comp doesn't do anything. You have to use something slower burning and case filling like VV 3N37 and 3N38.

I think I read somewhere that some builders will only warranty their guns if they have been run on 3N38.
