Hi, I want to pull the bullets from 700 rounds 7.62x39, what's the best way to do that? I have a hammer type bullet puller, but...for 700 rounds, you know why I don't want to use it... :D Thanks.

collet puller. Though pulling those steel-cases lacquered bullets is a real PITA

I googled and got this

is this the collet puller that you mentioned? I found it in cabelas's catalog. Thank you!

I would think if you really wanted to do it you could put one end or another in a vise and then use the right kind of open end wrench with a cheater on it to pop them apart.

WHY?!

I want to use the bullets and powder of these cheap CZ surplus to reload .308 win rounds. Is it doable? thanks.
It is doable but why? It wont be precise and unless you know the powder in use you will be risking a lot, dont forget that the bullets will be the cheapest possible and may not fit, .311 into .308! I know it can be doone but why not shoot the or do a swap with a .308 shooter?

Right now I'm buying powder&bullets, the cost is $0.40/round. If I can use these surplus bullets & powder, the cost would be about $0.20/round. ... so I'm thinking this way.

I do it with my 303. Use the hornady puller or you can make or buy a set of "pliers" type pullers. Use a 308 collet, not 310, so you get a good grip.

How will you know what the powder is without testing the ammo and calculating the MV and working out what powder it could be, I'd re use the bullets but not the powder!

No need as you are working with other known points. You are using the same weight bullet in a larger case, thus lower pressure.

You are welcome to it, perhaps you can but I'm not willing to mess around with unknown powders especially foreign military ammo. Under pressure ammo can cause almost as many problems as over pressure, please keep us updated.

Case capacity is well over half in the 303, so not detonation issues, especially with extruded rifle powder. Obviously one needs to have a head for the details, but anyone reloading should.

again, what's your time worth to save 140$....

2-3 hours work for $140, not bad for something I can do while watching a hockey game. I can do 4-5 per minute with the stuff i had, using a hammer type puller.

Military surplus salvage powder and bullets aren't for everybody, obviously.
