I have my eye on a lovely single shot Belgian proofed target pistol made by B. Dozin . The seller listed it as .44 Russian but the barrel is stamped
10.4 which translates into .41 cal., probably chambered in something like .41 Swiss, whereas 10.9 would be .44, Any idea what it would cost and who would do the rebore?

How is the bore? Making up cartridges might be easier and cheaper than reboring.
I've done some research. Starline makes .41 cal. brass and some further research would probably get information regarding propellants and projectiles. That said, finding dies would be a pain and getting the chamber reamed to accept the Starline brass and the standard .429 bullets just seems more practical since I already load for .44.

It might be a challenging oddball like 10.4x20mm but it might be something straightforward to reload for. If it could be loaded with 41Sp or Colt equipment it might be pretty simple.
I'd try to figure out what the chambering actually is before changing it. A cast of cerrosafe or wax should help.

To me and many others it would be more interesting and valuable in the original chambering.
I definitely understand wanting it to be a shooter more than a research or experimental archeology project too though.
