The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

Well, the testing on my 85.5 Bergers vs the 95 Match Kings was definitive, the remaining 85.5's got pulled and replaced with 95's.
That articular rifle shoots the Sierras much better.
Shooting the remainder of the batch today and then that 100 lot will get annealed.

Necked down 50 338 Lapua cases in 5 stages to 7mm. Loaded 16 grains of Unique for the COW method, for which I substituted instant oatmeal because I didn’t have Cream of Wheat. Topped them off with soap. Used primers that I picked out of the dirt under the bench.

Opened the garage door and ripped them off without the cops showing up. Now I had 50 fire-formed 7 Allen cases. Trimmed, hamferred and loaded those up with 102 grains of RL 33 and the 195 grain Berger EOL. Used GMM 215 Ms this time. Seated to 3.680” to fit the magazine. Not a lot of science there.

7mm Rem Mag 180 ELDM at 3.55 Overall Length with Staball HD from 72.0 grains pushing it up to 75.5 in half grain increments. I'd be surprised if I got through them all without stopping for pressure. Began to get compressed charge around 74.0 . Too long for the magazine, just experimenting with the components I have. 🫣

Edit: +P at 74.5 brass flowed into ejector hole. Of course didn’t shoot the remainder.

Played with the 175 ABLR in my 7 Allen Magnum a bit. Couldn’t find any data for RL 33 so started low at 95 grains and went up one grain at a time to 105 grains where I decided to stop. 3445 fps out of a 26” Bartlein barrel. Walked back into the shop and loaded 5 of those while the barrel cooled. Shot those 5 at 125 yards, 5 into .60”. ES of 6 fls. Might be some potential there.

40 rounds of 303 using unsized cast bullets from an NOE 316-213-RN mold lubed with ALOX and 12grs of Green Dot
It was definitely worth packing up the Hornady dies and buying the 3 die set from Lee.

Playing with the 458win mag, got new bullets to figure out a load, 400gr Barnes original, 400gr woodleigh wrldcore! And play some more with the 350gr tsx and hotcor to make sure they still shoot where they are supposed too with the shorter barrel and new Timney trigger oh and also a new( to this rifle) scope!

What was your velocity at your safe quitting spot?

If you have to wait a little longer to get the Garmin, wait a little longer.
I often do almost exactly what you did, run through quick to establish max pressure. I like to do it with a chronograph because if I’m not getting the speed I expect I don’t care if it shoots or not. I’ll start again with a digferent powder. At times I’ll pretend I’m doing a ladder. The other day I did one while sighting in a new rifle and new scope. Sighted in, found a max working pressure and confirmed velocity in 4 shots. Loaded 3 at the working max and shot those at 125 yards, which is the distance from my shop door to the edge of the lawn. Those went well under an inch; so loaded up 6, went to the other side of the road with a snow machine and shot those at 600 yard steel and held 3.5” Hmmm, maybe I could do better, but a 7mm 195 grain EOL started at 3350 fps and grouping 6 in 3 1/2 inches at 600 yards probably will ward off starvation.

Today 6.5mm Creedmoor 120 ELD-M at 2.70 OAL with 40.0 grains of Varget. It’s all an experiment 😝

Edit : a bit too spicy. Little bit of a stamp on some case heads. Should back off a grain.

Finishing the last of my 10mm auto. Didn't realize I had 1000 new brass in the shed. Now my Marlin will be happy.

I need to change over to 9mm next. Crank out at least 5000 of those... I want to fill 2 .50cal cans to the top, then put the rest of my brass out in the shed. I have a stupid amount sitting around. I should stop picking it up....

Re & Re 5 rounds of 100 year old 25 - 20 ss (single shot) black powder .

Inertia the 86 gr bullets out removed the 20 gr of blk pwdr and replaced it
with 6 or 7 gr of IMR 4227 .

Now to hold my breath while I test it .
