Norinco or Springfield M-14?

if you would buy a springfield over a hand built rifle such as the one described above, simply because the receiver is chinese.. you are truly a fool and too brand concious to see the light.

Whats so Chinese about it at that point. Its barely a Norinco in my opinion. Kinda like calling the cars they use in Nascar which have the outter body of a Ford Fusion for example (or any other street car body for that matter), its so different internally that it may as well be considered a different thing all together. ;)

As for picking a SAI over a Chinese receiver because its a Chinese receiver, well I don't think it has anything to do with being too much into the "brand". There are many reasons to pick a SAI, LRB or any other American made receivers over a Norinco.

Only Chinese firearm I'd buy is a Type 88 with the original Chinese chambering but thats just me. :runaway:

and that my friend is my point exactly..... and no doubt built for less than an m1a loaded

LRB receivers are works of art...... I would throw away all my norc receivers for LRB's in a heart beat hehehehe but not cuz they are chinese. Anyhow... I'll shut up now and make my exit from this debate :D :D :D

Dimitri, enjoy your new rifle... any m14 is a good m14 and of all the springfields the loaded would be the only one i would consider. bottom line really is, a guy wants what he wants and us internet junkies can spout off all day.... in the end if the springfield is your choice..... it's the right choice for you... period. let us know how she groups..... and your overall assesment of the fit and finish... pics man ... pics :D

Just having a discussion. I see no debate.

SAI's "problems" are over blown, they do put out a lemon here and there, but then again when you've made over 200,000 of them, its easy to piss off a small percentage of your customers to make your product look bad. A poll I did on a M14 related website clearly shows that 95% of all of the owners ether had a good product from the start, a small problem they fixed themselves or using SAI's warranty repair service just ONCE got the problem fixed. :)

As for grouping I need to find time to go to the range seem to be pretty busy on the weekends. :(
