Mossberg88 aftermarket parts?

Hey
Are mossberg 500 parts interchangeable with mossberg maverick 88 parts.
Got a buddy who’s wondering if he could get a shorter barrel and a pistol grip/stock adapter for his mossberg 88 20 gage.

I have stock/buffer tube and pistol grip that I could give him.

Trigger groups are not.
M88 front handguard generally not removable from action bars.
M500 action bars could be installed on M88 so forend be changed.

Any idea where a 18 or 20 inch barrel could be found? 20 gage

Just buy another one in the configuration you want.
They're inexpensive enough.

The 500 uses the same style forearm as the 88 these days. Older models used a separate action tube and foreend, but that hasn't been the case for at least a few years from what I can gather (I think I bought my 500 like 5-6 years ago).

Just buy another one in the configuration you want.
They're inexpensive enough.

You can look up part numbers on Mossberg website easy enough, compatibility follows magazine length.

However, the cost of a new barrel is usually more than you would pay for a decent used gun. Also, if he is planning on swapping back and forth, that becomes a PITA very quickly. Better to just get a second gun.

buy one with the shorter barrel and you can sell off the other parts - or keep them as 'just in case'
