Cz 527 Rifles.

I really want to get a synthetic stock for my 7.62x39 carbine. Then I wouldn't be worried about damaging the stock

There are 223 Carbines. I feel they used to be more common but we see less nowadays, possibly because people are holding on to them to have something to shoot their 223/556 stockpile. Or maybe the market got flooded with 7.62x39 towards the end of the run.

I sold my 223 carbine and 223 FS when I found a varmint that was cut down to 20in.

I trimmed down a spare mannlicher stock 2 in to make a 7.62x39 mannlicher. Taken one doe with it. Very nice to walk around with with a flush for mag.

Hey all, I had been interested in one of these rifles for years(in x39) so I picked one up in January, wish I would have got one years ago before they were discontinued.

Anyways, I love the Carbine 7.62x39, am I correct in assuming they also made carbine 223 with the 18.5' barrel? The internet says yes, but I can't find a single picture of one on the boards here or someone talking about them. Does anyone have one here? I'd love to find one one day.

I did extensive reading on the 527 after I got it. Learned all about the cracking stocks, action screws coming loose, and binding bolts, luckily for my my action is as smooth as butter. It's and older model with the fixed vertical rear sight.
I pillar bedded both the front and rear screws and took a tiny bit of relief around the tang. It has been fired before I got it and never had an issue so Im sure I would have been fine anyways.
I also hated the gloss stock, it's not the nicest wood anyways so I decided to strip it and oil it without any lacquer or gloss finish. I'm much happier with it now. I'll post some photos in a few minutes here

...the rifle that showed me x39 actually has recoil. lol 527s are great.

So, not quite as pretty as same in .222 then?
Are you kidding me? All triple-deuces are Beauty Queens compared to all other guns ever made! If ever someone tells me that they’ve seen a rifle prettier than any 222, I’ll simply say F***-Off Liberal Tabernack!

Edited to add: I’ll be watching you! (In my best Gunnery Sgt. Hartman voice).

Hehe. I should post a pic of my 527s one day. 17H, 22H, 204, 222, 223. I like to bring them out of the safe, pose them, and just stare while doing the Pee Wee Herman giggle. Just the .221 to go and I can die happy. Ahem.

I was being a little sarcastic lol but being a CZ fan I’d like to see your rifles escape for a picture. That’s a hell of a family photo.

Don't be dissin the 222 sir lest the sky opens up above you. I ditched an older Anschutz 222 to buy 1.5 of the 527s incl the Lux 222. 3 of my five 527s in this pic and the dearly departed Anschutz 222 on far right.

Very nice stable. Like on the Anschutz, the inventor and modern day perpetrators of the rollover cheekpiece need to be tied to a tree and horse whipped.

It was great wood to work on tho and unfortunately we don't see much of the old Euro walnut anymore. I hear you though. I prefer the look of the Lux and the practicality of a straight stock to handle recoil in my larger bores. Much like the rollovers the Lux humpback is an abomination in the heavier recoiling rifles but does keep a guy awake at the range. Love it in my rimfires and varmints but more intended for open sights shooting.

Howa produces some nice mini mausers, lately I have been feeling tempted.
Howa produces mini mausers? Never heard of Howa mini mauser but they do make mini action in 223 and 7.62x39. I had one, great fast short bolt but I didn’t like the heavy bolt lift, it felt worse than Savage which normally requires a forklift to lift the bolt .

I gotta tell you some of my big bucks walked out on the opposite side of my strong shooting shoulder/eye and I’ve had to quietly and slowly swap my rifle over to shoot from from the opposite shoulder/eye. They’re all on the wall. That’s why I detest rollover cheekpieces because I’d have bought some rifles but….
