New Lipsey’s Ruger M77 Alaskan in 9.3x62 and 35 Whelen

My M77 Alaskan in 9.3x62 was hitting 8-9inches low at 50yd. The Ruger rep told me “I’ve been hearing people complain in the forums about the sights not being on but I think you guys just don’t know how to use the sights” told him that I used the sight picture listed in the manual and was 8-9in low at 50yd. They sent me a taller rear and it was a pain in the ass to install and it only brought it up 2-3 inches. Now Lipseys is sending me a shorter front sight but it seems that Midbore Outdoors got one of the shorter front sight posts from Ruger and it raised the POI several inches high at 25yd. Which also doesn’t work for me. Probably gonna up testing it in my rifle and if it is high at 50yd I’ll call NECG and get a front post from them. I should also mention the Ruger rep asked what ammo I was using and I said PPU 285gr and some handloads with the PPU 285gr projectiles. He told me they don’t recommend reloading ammo for there rifles. I’m sure it’s a standard “liability” response but come on really? As for using irons cuz I saw someone in here saying 99% of people won’t. You are probably right. However they should still be somewhat regulated from the factory. I killed a charging black bear (you can call BS but I have photos I can post) this last season at 25-30 feet. Shot it in the head with a 7PRC with my Leupold scope on the min mag of 4.5, let me tell you that woke me up to having a rifle setup for situations like that. I train a lot of height over bore shooting under NODS for fun and I’m glad I do because I held over the bears head automatically and nailed him in the top of the head while he was running at me. My guide about peed himself when he got down to me and had me go stand where I shot him. He had my eject a round to find the brass from my first shot. Partially because j think he thought I was full of it. He found the spent case and told me put it on a necklace or something because I was one lucky guy. Just my 2 cents and rant. Wish id have had an iron sight rifle in that scenario personally.

Apparently he's tacked on a cool $700.00 for his troubles.......:(

I wonder where he got them from?
So I actually spoke with Jamesho (Morris is his given name), a very nice fellow. He get's these Lipsey's Ruger Rifles through IRG's and other dealers who import them from the United States.

It's unfortunate his mark up on these rifles is so high. However I understand one cannot do all the leg work for nothing.......:)

When I spoke with him on February 16th, he still had one 9.3x62 caliber Ruger M77 Alaskan coming mid April of this year.

If anyone wants his phone number, go ahead a PM me and I'll give it out.

I don't know, however we all buy/sell/trade firearms, ammo, and accessories. We don't have a dealer license, why should he?......:)

Half the guys on Gunnutz here, and on Gun-Post would need a dealer license then!.....:(

Your question is very odd!........:(

I was just being sarcastic, you buy a rifle brand new in the intention to resale it brand new…. But I guess I’m the only one who doesn’t do that hahaha.

You may want to use the correct emoji when being sarcastic then....:):ROFLMAO:

Everyone on Gunnutz is a little edgy with the corrupt Liberals trying to take our guns away.....:(

And with floor-crossers being a thing, or MP recruitment by the same tyrannical Liberals, sh!t is going to hit the fan once this dictator achieves his majority goal.......:(

He will take away our guns, take away our freedom of speech, ban internet and social media sites that promote firearm ownership.

Gunnutz, Gun-Post, and Town-Post will become a site like Facebook. Completely run by WOKE IDIOTS!......:(

NO GUNS ALLOWED!:oops::(:ROFLMAO:(n)

Last year I took a .375 WSM, this year the .350 RM.& 6.5 RM, next year the .458 WM and 7.62X57 HC....all loads worked up already and rifles zeroed and ready to go. I don't worry about losing ammo enroute, if it happens I can deal with it in camp, but it only happens rarely, and I am not losing sleep over it. What's the point of being a "Gun Nut," and not shooting your own rifles and ammo?
Oh, the GD irony...

Oh, ho.....tell me more!
Suitcase with ammo arrived seven days into a 14 day Safari... watched my rifle case be thrown 20 feet from the top of a baggage truck onto the tarmack in Frankfurt, landing on the end... one rifle of the two arrived with cracked stock and floating internal scope lens... shot a tidy 16" group at 200 yards...

And yet... still a great hunt... shyte happens.

Holy $hit!! Cracked one of your laminated stocks? Must have been quite the impact!
Glad you were still able to have a great hunt!

I saw the impact, a whole bunch of us on the flight were watching the baggage handlers throwing bags, next thing I know, my rifle case went sailing through the air, missed the conveyor and hit on end on the tarmac... the .350 Rem Mag is screwed... needs work when I get home, I was unable to use it all together.
