Brand New SKS Trigger Safety Failure 😞

So I bought a Chinese Sks French tickler two days ago. I take it home, disassemble it and clean it. Then I realize the Safety is loose, there is no tension. so holding it technically it’s always live.

I take it to the store and they say they don’t have tools to fix it, the safety catch spring blade is probably broken and it will cost me 188 plus tax to replace the entire trigger group.

I’m in Ontario and am trying to find a cheaper solution, whether it be a new trigger group for cheaper or fixing the issue.

I honestly don’t got much experience with guns…

Appreciate it

Dem - does the gun 'dry-fire' when it's cokked ? Does the Safety 'work' (stop the trigger) anyways, just not 'snug' ? DTTe's a YT vid where the id you dis-assemble the trigger group - I hope not 'cause that is likely unnecessary in most cases. There's a YT vid for dis-assembly of the T-GROUP and at ca 7:00 can see where it should be.
Also, there is a lot of info on sksboards .com; an old post with parts location 'back then' that may help you find that 'cheap' part - http s://sks-files.com/index.php?topic=6567.msg73155#msg731
PS - I NEVER USE the safety on my SKS anyway. It's either 'locked open' or Live. You can 'lock' the bolt by reaching down inside and pulling UP the LSHO 'tab', if there is NO ammo in the way.
