I voted for the 92FS only because Beretta is an Italian design ;)... but it really is the same gun so it shouldn't metter much IMO...
 
You are right. But there are subtle differences between the two. I don't know if the M-9 is made to any extra standards because it's going to the military, but I do know it is slightly more expensive, and it looks to have a slightly different finish, grips and sights. I've also read the dust cover is straight and not slanted, and there is a front rail.

M9 doesn't have a rail! you're thinking M9-A1 which does cost more (and would be my pick)...M9 should cost the same as regular 92.

the magazine release button is located at the usual area, near the trigger!
I picked up an Italian 3 weeks ago simply because that's the original. If I ever get broke to the point where I need to sell it, it will have a better value! They are both great guns!
