Don't crucify me...

Looking for a tool to adjust the rear sight. Tried using the bullet tip of a 223 cartridge as seen on youtube, but I can't get the disc to turn...and I'm scratching the crap outta my rifle.
The sight was adjusted all the way to the right. Visually disconcerting and according to my laser boresighter, also off.

I've scoured the websites of a few gunshops and did a Google search. Front sight tools, dime a dozen but nothing for the rear sight of an A1.
A combo front/rear tool would be the best, but I'd gladly settle for a rear sight adjuster.

They used to be common as dirt, but the A1 has been out of service for 30+ years now, so no surprise they are hard to find.

Many years ago I made a tool from a penny, using a dremel, to adjust the rear sight on a Mini-14. The sights are the same concept, a wheel with some holes, and a detent is locking one of the holes. Two prongs is all you need, so long as one of them goes into the hole where the detent is.

It's been so long, I can't even recall how my rear sight is adjusted. How sad is that?

Also, what gauge is your AR, OP? :p (Wrong Black and Green Forum)
