Price of Lead

Scrap (clean) lead in Ottawa hads been at $0.50 for years. I have more than two tons of wheelweight ingots and pure lead to sell and am still waiting for it to get closer to Southern Ontario prices.

I've tried to sell it for $1/lb on CGN, and never had a bite.

That clean lead price has dropped to $0.70 currently in SW Ontario

A buddy of mine got a demo contract when the local hospital was upgrading/ adding to the x-ray dept.
Turns out the walls were lead lined and all the lead had to be removed from the site.
I gave him a hand stripping and cutting it into sheets. (Yes. Proper PPE and techniques were used.) We salvaged about 3 tons of lead sheeting.
My take was just under 1000 lbs of pure lead.
So far just used it for casting round balls for BP.
Where can you purchase Antimony or other hardening agents?
You can order from rotometals in the us , shipping is really fast but it’s pricey to ship and pure antimony has a much higher melting point than lead so I just buy the super hard in 5 lb ingots , it’s 30% antimony

Send it my way, I have guys lining up at $2.50/lb

Antimony will be expensive and hard to find.
Maybe try finding Linotype printing lead or other harder lead alloys and use that to harden it or put out a want to trade add for some of your soft lead for lead ingots made out of wheel weights.
antimony was selling for 15.00/lb just a few years ago, last quote I got a couple of months ago it was 43.00/lb. I haven't seen or heard of linotype for many years. solder/tin has also gone through the roof, last price I got for 50/50 solder was 40.00/lb. I have a lifetime supply of tin but should grab some antimony if the price takes a dip. I thought it was kind of pricy before, now it's priced out of reach for economical bullet making. actually, its time to devise some inexpensive effective bullet traps rather than sift through the berms for lead.

Yes, things are getting crazy...
Factory bullets are also up in price over a few years ago so I think bullet making will still be economical, maybe a bit less.

I'm also good with a lifetime supply for personal use in wheelweight, soft lead, 40/60 tin alloy, plumbing solder joints from cast iron pipes, bucket full of pewter items to melt and a bucket full of linotype. Hoarded a bunch about 8 years ago until I figured I had enough lol.
I have two shot maker pans/drippers on the way from the US, so once I get them up and running I might go through the lead stash a bit faster : )

Western Metals in Calgary can supply what you need.
Antimony is kind of a pain to get to alloy with lead. The best bet, I think, is to buy the high antimony lead (I think it's about 30%), that alloys in much easier.
