Ive been looking at these O/U the last week online as they seem to be such a wonderful firearm but bloody expensive.Says they come in 3 action sizes with the smallest being for 28 & 36 gauge and thats what id be interested in.

From what Ive researched the 687 EELL are made in berettas custom or premium shop rather than there big factory down the road where most of the guns are built through the production line.I dont know how accurate that is?

Figured I'll shoulder a 687 pigeon 1 in the near future to see how it feels/fits and go from there but for roughly 14.5K I dont know if its worth it and would be better off with something else.

I sure wish they still made them 687 pigeon Vs with the case coloring as them are nice IMO.

Im sure at least a few of you have a EELL kicking around with some feedback?
 
Basically a 686 . I find the sized to gauge feature with the 686 and 687 makes for a slim well balanced gun a big plus for me, If you are just looking for a shooter the 687 is hard to justify. A 687 at that price point won't be a easy gun to sell if you ever want to move it. Much bigger market for the 686.

Anyone with half a rain realizes it’s easy to shoot a well fitted gun and a skilled shooter can shoot well with any gun but better with one that just fits properly.

Be aware you’ll get pounded with duty.

Give Matt a email there they could very likely put something you want together even if not listed.

He would also be a good guy to ask if the 687 EELL can have the stock to your measurements. They will do this at no extra charge for some guns I am just not sure about the one you interested in.

it's all cosmetic' s you are buying art work the recievers and all metal work come off the production line then engraved fitted with very high grade would fine hand checkering
that's where the money goes
 
As to reciever to gauge size the 20 to 28 gauge combo comes with the 20 gauge reciever, I have a set of 12 20 28 410 all are sized to gauge the 28 410 gauge reciever difference is slight but the 410 it is smaller on my set as were the stock sets.

Beretta EELLs are made in the Beretta custom shop which is a completely different building than standard production guns. They’re hand fitted and assembled by Berettas best smiths in their custom shop. Then all the ART is added! Overpriced like all guns today!! It’s much nicer owning stunning looking guns than ugly ones.

The custom shop, Beretta Due, isn't all it's cracked up to be and I own a gun from that shop. The 687 EELL is very pretty but $15k is a lot for a tarted up boxlock shotgun with nicer wood, useless side plates and laser engraving that is chased by an Italian with a chisel.

Spot on I think that goes for most anything made today with the computor machining metal work stocks and lazer checkering ect. Gun makers are more of a computor programmer than a gunsmith. But the product is good but not one kind hand made.

Yeah but the move from one to the other is a quantum leap in price. I have a Perazzi MX8 Mirage that’s hand engraved and custom built and it’s not close to $15k. A new truck isn’t worth 100K either. Ceasar guns have skyrocketed in price as well as Brownings and none of them are worth the asking price either!
 
The new 687 sp5 doesnt look a whole lot different than a base 687 now. I think the 687 sp3 is the best looking excluding the eell.

The wood is nicer on the new 5s but at a distance its hard to tell the 5 from the base. At least your 5 was case hardened and had gold inlays


I much prefer the new 5 axis engraving on the silver pigeons over the older laser engraving

One could save alot of coin buying a new sp3 then getting a Joel etchen stock set and forgo the sideplates

That’s a beauty and I love the Negrini cases. In the last couple years I’ve taken a real shine to color cased receivers. None are the same which makes it custom in my mind!

Totally agree. Same goes for most anything today.

Wanna see nice wood and custom fitting? Check out Manuel Ricardo. Buddy of mine has had a few sets made and absolutely stunning and super fast turnaround and great program for custom fitting. Their ever changing blanks are second to none.

I have seen pics of Ricardo's stocks---they are outstanding---did your friend get his stocks done without shipping his guns to Portugal? I have heard that for common guns like Perazzi's and Krieghoff's that he doesn't need your gun---the stocks may require fitting but sure a lot better than trying to figure out how to ship your gun to Portugal.
