Paper patch in a tube mag

Loading paper patch bullets for tube mag crests a concern. For cartridges to be fed through a tube mag, the bullets need to be crimped to prevent recoil from pushing a bullet into the case but paper patch bullets should NOT be crimped or the case neck can strip the paper off as it leaves the case. So, how does one seat a paper patch bullet in a case that will be fed through a tube mag??

You can lightly crimp paper patched bullets. If you're loading with black powder and fillers setback is a non issue. With smokeless, try and find a bulky powder that gives very high case fill. Success overall depends on the lifter mechanism and feed angle of the action. Something like an 1886 Winchester would be very likely to ruck up your paper. The kropatchek magazine system (used on several different rifles) is one well proven to successfully work with paper patches.
