22lr reloading kit, its finally time

I'm thinking it would be a good thing to know how to do and have all the gear and supplies. For pretty obvious reasons. Might not need to do it today. SFRC and whatever source you like might not be there one day some day
Thank you! Someone who understands what I mean! But i am also one of those guys who never spent my first dollar and is cheap as f8ck lol

If i can save 10 cents a shot its worth my time. I guess my time isnt worth much compared to others

Blazer, the stuff I remember as the value brand just 10-15 years ago

You got stiffed BADLY!

As cheap ammo, I buy Norma TAC 22 for around $60 for a brick of 500, which is excellent in my Anschütz rifles, and nearly as good as the Eley ammo I am using most of the time.

With tax it's about 14 cents a pop.
There is a multitude of cheaper ammo available, if 14 cents is too expensive for you.

I checked online for a 22lr reloading kit, here it is:

https://22lrreloader.com/products/22-reloader-kit

Available in the states only for $75 USD,
add conversion, shipping, customs and taxes, and you are at $200 CAD.

Let's say you can save $0.05 per round of 22lr, it will take 4000 rounds or 8 bricks before you break even.

I wish you all the luck in the world, and I hope you have fun.

Bought the last 200 rounds of CCI Mini-Mags Segmented, 40 grain for 10.99,- per 100 rounds at a LGS sale just a couple weeks ago.

I would have taken 2 cases at this price but that's all they had left. Damn, I was 20 minutes late... Also bought a case (500 rounds) of Remington Yellow Jackets @ 69.99,- at same occasion.

OP, Keep an eye out for sales. It will save you lots of grieve and money in compare to the .22lr reloading contraption.

That's likely a wrong hobby if starting to reload 22lr to save up money, you should start shooting airgun instead.

I only reload for accuracy mainly, never really about saving if you start factor your time into that.

Hey guys

I just went and bought my first box of 22lr in a very long time. I cannot believe it, I can actually reload my 9mm for 2 cents less a round (14 cents) than I can buy 22lr (.16 cents) for. It was 7.99 a box, plus tax. Though I found some "bulk" bricks of 500 for 56$ as well. But that would also be plus tax and shipping.

The time has come for me to seriously consider buying the 22lr reloading kit from 22lrreloader.com in the states.

Quick math shows I can cast the bullet for about 2 cents, prime the case for another 2, and probably 1 cent of powder for a total of 5 cents a round.

8 bucks a box of 50 for 22lr is ludicrous, has anybody else caved and tried that reloading kit?

I have reloaded 22lr just for sh1ts with match heads and strips, and a 55gr gas check shanked bullet, and they worked okay. But of course I had to trim a mile off the brass, and I cant crimp them in place without a special crimper so it wasnt ideal.

Yes it seems a little tedious, but at this point it really seems the cost savings could be worth it.
I always thought the primers would be a real b!tch to make.

Just for clarity,
500 rds is a brick
5000 rds is a case

Just FYI that those 22 reloading kits aren't approved in Canada under the explosive reg, unless someone has gotten an approval in the last year or so.

While I hear what you're saying, not exactly. This one is just a matter of no one every submitting an approval for it. That product is a super niche market with basically no money to be made so no "manufacturer" ever bothered to get it approved for import in Canada.
