Parkerizing or Armacoat?

Which would be more durable? Also where do you buy parkerizing kits and Armacoat in Canada? Thanks in advance for any information.

I just received the Radocy parkerizing solution,gonna redo a makarov with it.
It's real easy to do and you don't have to worry about dust.

Parkerizing or Armacoat?, I was thing about the samething also, for my new Ar10, it got stainless steel barrel and gas block, I am not sure which way is the best, Armacoat would not be a bad IDEAL!...

Both.

Parkerize it, then Armacoat the whole thing. That is the most durable.

BTW, you can't parkerize stainless GunBoy so in your case I'd just go with Armacoat.

Both work very well.Just be sure your metal is very,very clean. Degrease,degrease and degrease again.

Thanks for all the input, but nobody has mentioned where either of these could be purchased. Does anyone know? I live in Saskatoon, Sask if that makes a difference.

Media blasting the surface to be coated is also a good idea and promotes good coating adhesion.................just DON'T use glass beads...........use Aluminum Oxide...........Bead blasting smooths the surface too much for the coatings to properly adhere...........

Brain cramp day. medi blasting and NOT GLASS beads are almost a necessity for any of the coats to adherre to the metal.If you don't have a media blsting gun , you can rough up the surface with aluminum oxide paper 80 to 100 grit.

On a side note, I have only used glass bead for my refinishing and I haven't got into armacoat yet but I have had no problems with parkerizing? I always use fresh media to avoid any contamination with oil etc?

She's a keeper. We still haven't heard the end of my buddy "borrowing" his wifes toaster oven to bake small parts..
