I wonder how hard it'd be to take a FAL stock and handguard and turn it into something like this.....

That seems unlikely to me (at least in the near future).

Since the buyback program is now closed... How would owners be compensated for these or any other rifles that get imported in the future that they don't like? It's much more difficult now since the "buyback" program has come and gone and failed so hard. They don't even know how they're going to collect all the firarms they've already banned... nevermind new ones.

I'm not saying it's impossible... but it's more likely they come up with some other new scheme. Maybe changing the classification legislation altogether or something else... Either way I think we will have some time to enjoy these firearms (for a while at least).

Maybe in the meantime we get a change in government. Here's hoping!

Oh, I can't afford this either, but I have sat on the sidelines a few times in the past and then had regrets afterwards that I wish I had bought it (like waffling on getting that H&K USP and then the handgun freeze hits). Truth be told, I got my PAL more than 20 years ago, but didn't get my RPAL till the year before the freeze. Was thinking oh, I got time (yeah...18 years of waffling) and then by the time I decided to get it, it was too late. Sadly, that was the case for many things over the years.

I am funding my gun purchases with selling stuff before the wedding...things like my old hockey card and comic book and collectors toy collections I had all my life. I am not a young guy so if I kick the bucket, my soon to be wife won't know what to do with those collections...I may as well liquidate them and get something more practical (and since she has a PAL and I soon will have extended family with PALs, at least my guns and ammo will find a good home should I expire).

I should really be putting the newly acquired funds into the wedding costs, but both of us are older and established and it's not like we are having a wedding of Buckingham Palace proportions, so it's fine...

Truth be told...since all my SAs were banned in 2024, I have been looking for something fun that can still scratch the itch, but isn't so goofy that I am embarrassed to be seen at my club with it. Now, with as many people slagging Turkish guns, I will say that of recent offerings the Alcor is EXCELLENT. And sure, it can have its furniture changed, but this Makasi is almost like a throwback to years gone by when I can take any one of my modern sporters to the club and have a hoot.

I'm still fuzzy how this made it past the C21 "evergreen" characteristics. But I digress...minor details that are not my concern...lol...

But honestly, the main reason I am buying this is because I know Poly hates stuff like this. Pop cans and gophers, here we come!!!
