I’ve got an Aimpoint Electronic MKIII from 1983 that still runs with a nice bright dot, It’ll also dim and brighten with its built in photoreceptor. It still holds zero on a Black Hawk Dawn retro build.

Checked it the other day and it’s nice and bright in glaring sun against snow. - Amazing.

I use the PRO and M4 - all good.

Is this Blackhawk Down retro build on an M1A, and if so a pic may be required....

No. It’s a Colt 723 repro.

Took me a while to put all the parts together.

It’s old school but very capable.

The time and attention to detail isn’t reflected in the “buyback” amount.

Luckily I’m in Alberta.

That's a from my cold dead hands rifle if there every was one... especially up here. Damn... Hats off to you for the patience and dedication to put that together.

One of my favourite red dots, and had a lot time with it on an ACR. It’ll feel outdated to those who favour the latest tech, and a bit clunky and heavy. Clear dot, clear glass, and takes abuse I’ve doubt even much nicer and more expensive Aimpoint rd could take. My favourite things about it is how easy and repeatable the qd system is. You tighten it there is two clear audible and tactile clicks and you know it’s on right. Mark where you place it on the rail, and you can take it on and off with decently minimal poi shift.

One of the neat features I always liked about this optic is the caps, specifically the rear clear cap. Even with the front cap closed, you can still view the dot through the rear cap and make soild shots with the front cap closed.
