DP marked Inglis HP

I have a Inglis HP marked DP28 as a serial number........What does that signify?....The gun is live and in very good condition......tangent sight and shoulder stock cut out

since there is no manual of arms for 'pistol drill' there are no Drill Purpose pistols

the DP serial numbers seem to obviously be a Demonstration Pistol for testing

The DP stands for Drill Purpose and is normally a firearm that has been well used and taken out of service.
