Restock on 20rd MRX magazines for MRA Renegade Rifles

Do you know if the last-round bolt catch works with these magazines?
Update. I got the bolt catch to work on an empty mag.

Removed a little material at the top inside surface of the spine that is raised to stop the follower from moving all the way up and making contact with the lips.

Then I replaced the follower with a CAA 10/20rd pistol mag follower or an Alberta Tactical 10/20rd pistol mag follower. That mod makes the bolt catch engage when empty.

I tried Magpul Pmag followers and they are slightly too short lengthwise. Plastic USGI followers might work after significant material removal as they are too wide in the front end. One could also try putting a screw into the back of the original follower or trying to add some material to trip the bolt catch.

In the end if you have some of these old 10/20mags laying around give this a try. I'm happy with the results.

Note in the pics the arrow points to the area of the spine that need filed down on the inside to match the lower thickness of the spine and circled are the front and rear tails of the follower need shortened as they are originally long for limiting to 10rds. you will also see the areas of the back of the spine, mag rear surface thinning, to allow smooth insert and drop free as well as elimination of bolt carrier rub on the lips by working down the lips carefully with a file.

Cheers

Do these work in both versions of the Renegade? Mine is one of the first versions.
Hi Geoff,

The MRX mags came out after the Mark 1 Renegade was designed, so No they will not work in the Mk I

Modifying the magazine to fit the Mark 1 would make it an AR15 compatible mag and 100 illegal.

One of the upgrades to the MkII is the addition of the slots in the magwell to accept this magazine or others (yet to be released on the market) that will fit the Renegde magwell but importantly NOT fit in any semi-auto gun that takes ar15 mags.

Are you saying that MRX Bison magazines will fit and work in the Gen 2 Renegade?

Also, is the Gen 2 renegade received set still in production?

Yes the MRX Bison mags fit and work in the Gen 2 Renegade with minor mods as discussed earlier by me and others in this thread.
Demand is so high that they are rarely in stock. Best advice I can give is order and wait it out. They will ship when they get done a batch.

Cheers

Hi there,
Yes the Renegade Receiver Kit is still in production. We can't keep them on the shelves. As fast as we make them-they are gone.

We are looking currently at a 2-3 week fulfillment of new orders.

Also see Moe's answer above re the magazines...
