Also found a Weaver TO10 adapter
After sum fuss’in’bout, mayder fit

Salt wood stock and rust issues in the era of T-Bolts
I took a deep breath and pulled it apart last night

Hey Kamy , xlnt score ......... tho the Mossy does look period correct .

You are absolutely correct.
Butt for now, Leupold win the race.

I spent a bit of time on the Mossberg scope.
It is pretty clear once I got the 30 years of dust off it.
I was even brilliant’nuff to put the bore sight in the end of the bawrill and checked windage and elevation for movement.
Good on both.

I haven’t made up my mind on wrapping it up and storing it or just selling it to someone that is looking for one.

I did find a proper rear peep sight for it at the show so I’m not out anything value wise.

Just wrap the whole gun up, scope and all and send it down the hill my way. I will make a home for it!!

Nice! Can you still get mags for the old Tbolts?
I grabbed a newer one for a steal in 17hmr and now I want more of them.

Mossberg made 1/2 doz straight 4 powered scopes over the years.
Don't have all of them, but a few.
  • Mossberg No. 4: A fixed 4-power scope, often found with a sun shade.
  • Mossberg No. 4-D: A 3/4 inch, 4x .22 rifle scope.
  • Mossberg No. M4: A 4 power vintage rifle scope.
  • Mossberg No. M4(c): A 3/4 inch, 4 power patented vintage rifle scope, often featuring a crosshair reticle.
  • Mossberg No. M4(d): A 4 power rifle scope (3/4 inch tube).
  • Mossberg Model 5-M4(b)

Witch TEE?
Just a newer sporter 24" skinny barrel 17hmr, takes the weird double helix mags, I think the older ones have normal mags, I just don't know if we can get the old mags today, someone must make aftermarket I would hope.
I hear the older ones are slicker quality, so I'm always looking out for one.

There were some of the older style t-bolts mags on the EE recently but not sure if they’re still available.

Ive got the Salty Target and a good friend has the Salty regular barrel / left hand . It’s odd but I can shoot his left easier and he can shoot my right easier . Left hand on bolt ( in my case ) shoot rack it and shoot again without losing sight picture. He wants to trade but mines a bit more accurate.
Ps: nice furniture on that piece

For the older T-Bolt, there are two style of magazine.
- Without and with an ejector tab... Both should work, if I remember correctly the tab we added to improve ejection.
