What aftermarket choke am I looking for?

Hey guys, I just recently bought the do-it-all shotgun of my dreams for bird hunting. I was able to score a brand new Benelli M2 12g, 3" and 26" barrel in matte black. This one is the older generation with the comfortech stock system which I prefer to the newer gen M2.

Now I want to use this shotgun for waterfowl, upland, rabbit and grouse. I can see myself using it about 90% of the time for decoyed ducks and farmed upland pheasants. I'm assuming my shots will be anywhere from 20-40 yards at both species realistically.

I'm looking for a nice aftermarket choke that extends past the barrel about 1" and is silver in colour, I think it will look nice on the black barrel. I'll be shooting both non toxic and lead for waterfowl and upland. Is there a do it all choke I can pick that will be good for these purposes? Should I be starting with imp cyl, mod or a combo of the two? Is there a good company you guys can recommend to look at also? Thanks

Carlson chokes work well and don't cost an arm and a leg. If you are only buying one, do-it-all choke tube I would buy a modified choke.

No, there really isn't a do-all choke. Learn about patterns, yardage, matching shot material and size with choke exit diameter. Choke seems simple but can be complicated, especially with today's choice of shot materials.

Browse some choke maker's sites and spend some time reading, there is a lot of info to be gleaned. If do-all is your choice then select a more open choke rather than a tighter choke. Many chokes are listed by their exit diameters, knowing your bore diameter is beneficial when making a selection.

There are many sets available. Pick a fashionable set and go hit a pattern board with your chosen hunting ammo. There are just too many variables to predict exact results.

I'd probably go for an improved modified choke. I definitely wouldn't go for anything shiny though, waterfowl don't like shiny. Carlson and Briley are both good. If you insist on silver I know briley makes competition chokes in silver

Id go improved cylinder myself. Time and again im impressed how far and clean I can break targets and drop birds with ic
Steel patterns tighter than than and if your farm pheasants are anything like they are in my area shots are close. Ic wont make a bunny inedible if shot closer either

Get a extended M for upland
Flush (or matte extended) IC for waterfowl especially with bigger steel shot sizes.
Anything shiny will turn ducks and geese right around

My waterfowl shotgun is a Browning Maxus Wicked Wings, Bronze Edition, and despite it having a camo finish, someone at Browning decided that it should have silver extended chokes . Obviously that individual wasn't a serious waterfowl hunter, or they never would have chosen that finish on the choke tubes. As a result, the factory choke tubes sit in the box, while I use aftermarket chokes that have a black finish.
