Recently bought myself a blue line pump 12 gauge with 28” barrel. Threw a cheap rds on it by installing a 4 shell side saddle and pic rail mount. I want to use this shotgun for a bunch of uses: slug shooting at the range, clays, and eventually hunting. Should I keep the rds and side saddle on or is this only for tactical setups?

Shotguns are personal to you, I have shot Trap on numerous occasions with a red dot, it will work. Is it ideal, most would say no but if it’s works for you then who cares.
Try it and see. With the Blue Line pump being a clone of the 870, I would look into whether it accepts 870 barrels and look for an 18” barrel to throw on for “ tactical type shooting” . It’s always nice to have two barrels when possible.

Great advice, thank you. The best gun is the one you like right? Hell yeah
