Hey looking for suggestions trying to get the rear sight off a police trade in beretta 92s(heel mag release). I know that looking down the sights has to be removed right to left and have a sight pusher, not the beretta specific, but the thing won’t budge and don’t want to mess up the slide.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Penetrating lube and a bit of heat perhaps?

I struggled with mine as well and ended up taking it to a gunsmith to avoid damaging as well.
If you end up taking it in, just take slide to avoid att.

The Beretta rear sight tool is $320 at Stoeger but there are some cheaper options available.

What sight pusher are you using?
Just a cheap one I’ve used on my Glock and others. Not worth buying the beretta pusher might as well pay a gunsmith.

Was hoping there’s a trick to this.

You have a 92S and had the rear sight removed? Just making sure it is removable hard to find info. Thanks

It is removable.

I replaced mine with adjustable rear sight

Old sight looks as though it is in there pretty tight.

Alright so had my gunsmith take out the original and wow was that tight but he got it. He did say it's not a standard size dovetail and it would have to milled to get a modern sight in, which I can confirm now that I have the egw plate it's huge in comparison.

What did you use aftermarket and did you have to modify it?

Same on my 92fs Vertec. I took the slide off, leaned my soldering iron (or wood burner) on the sight plugged it in and came back 10min later, few taps with a brass punch and she was out

I put on a Beretta adjustable iron sight.

Hours of hand filing down the dovetail portion of the egw mount I was able to make it fit. Not perfect but very functional and took it to the range today with no problems so far.

Thanks everyone for the input.
