Does anyone here know how much the travel can be reduced on a Rem 700 LA before F2F issues start?
I recently had some work done on my 3pos safety shroud (Cerakoted). I had it set up perfect, but when I got it back there's too much clearance for the safety lobe and it's no longer backing the c0cking piece off the sear. (No idea how this could have happened - maybe they polished the interior surfaces a tiny bit, or something with the roll pins that hold it together??)
Anyway, removing 15 or 20 thou (max) off the c0cking piece will fix the issue, but doing so will reduce the pin fall to about .225
I wonder if that tiny bit out of spec will even make a difference. I guess I could just buy a stronger spring if I do get issues.
Anyone have experience with this or similar?
