Winchester Xpert .22LR - Shells Sticking In Chamber

Newbie here. I have started out with a new Winchester Xpert 22LR.

Before shooting, gave it a good cleaning to remove any factory debris etc. Shot a box of Sellier & Bellot Canadian Match without any issues.

Next time, was shooting same ammo as well as some Norma Tac-22. The S&B presented no issues. The Norma ammo was a different story. Nearly every third round, after discharging the firearm, the spent shell would remain wedged in the chamber. The shell casing would be wedge tight.

So did a little research which suggested that perhaps certain lubricants used on rimfire ammo might be issue.

Third time out. used CCI Clean 22 without issues. But SK Standard Plus and Winchester Super X copper plated both presented the same problem.

Probably have put 250 round through the rifle at this point. Cleaning after each range session.

Is this just a matter of finding the right ammo that the rifle likes? Breaking in the rifle? Something else?

You don't identify the model of the rifle. Sometimes some models have chambers that can be more "picky" about what ammo can be used without issue.

Less expensive .22LR rifles are made to shoot a wide variety of ammo without issue. (Performance on target may be another issue.)

Lubricant should not be the problem.

What cleaning procedure have you used?
 
Dry fired it before? Causing the firing pin to smack the edge of the chamber and create a burr on the face of the chamber? That does happen, and you can buy a little swaging tool that's like ten bucks to be able to fix that.

Some chambers are pretty tight and have extraction issues with certain brands. But dry firing is a pretty common cause of this to happen as well, especially if it's happening more common with a variety brands now.

Correction on the price...man they are expensive now in Canada... Over $40...

Model is in the first line - Winchester Xpert 22LR. (that is their bolt action rimfire)
 
I notice this also with my CZ 452 varmint. The CCI blazer and standard velocity have a bit too much wax. doesn't eject properly. drives me bonkers.
 
Some ammo has a different shape where the straight case becomes the rim... and this may require a "sharper" extractor to engage and extract. I touched up extractor fit all the time.
