I have a 6.5 PRC with who i get good groups and numbers but from time to time it will throw a bullet 20-30fps slower or faster. For example i can have ES of 12 for 5 shots but every 10 rounds or so speed will jump or be different for 1 shot. I have tried different powder, primer and bullet it just tend to behave the same. H1000 N565 H4831, 250 210 215. I have succesfully loaded for 6.5CM, 30-06, 6GT all with great number and group SD 7-8 ES 20 or less. I have checked my fired case vs loaded diameter and i have .004 clearance. I shoot the Berger 135 and the 156.

TIA

I would be far more concerned with where the actual shot landed ( in the group or score depending on your discipline) than the numbers.
If you are just chasing numbers however, next time you get a shot that is not what you want it to be as far as numbers go, segregate the case from the others
Eventually you may end up with two groups of cases or possibly just one.

I use Lapua brass all same lot number. I have some with 5 fires and some with 1 fire. I am loading 12 of each and see wich will behave the best. I fulllength size and mandrel out in 1 singular step using SAC die. .003 interference.

Keep em advices coming thanks

I just finished loading the 24 and the brass with 4 fires i can definitly feel a small donut while seating the 156 on my Wilson arbor press. Feel like a 2 stage for those long bullet in my short action. Will see how it shoot next weekend.

Here are the results from my test. I shot 6 with N565 with brass with 1 fire and 6 with brass with 4 fires. Same exact thing with H1000.

N565 1 fire brass i got SD 3.1 ES 8.6 and with 4 fires brass same exact everything else it tripled to 9.9 and 26.8.

H1000 i had slight larger numbers with the 4 fires brass but nothing major. H1000 1 fire brass gave me very good group 1/4 moa. This is what i am going to use.

No crimping. I will keep my 1 fire brass for the 156 and will use the 5 fires brass for the 135. The 156 are very deep in the brass for my max mag length of 2.965. I will also try the Wilson neck reamer when i find one. 5 SD and 14 ES is plenty for me i had some 30-40 ES this winter.
