I just won a 50% off coupon from a PRS match and was curious what people experiences are with swapping a T1x barrel with one of their drop-ins.

Thinking 22" full contour? Rifle is only used for benchtop paper targets and an annual PRS match.

Currently has the 16" factory which IMO shoots good enough - under 1/2" at 50y is possible with SK+, even hitting 3/8" at times.

When I was looking at getting a IBI rimfire barrel I came across this comment in the r/longrange, and this video as well, I just decided to spend my money on more ammo. The posts are from 2-3 years ago so things might have changed.

Left side top to bottom. 5 shot groups with SK Std+ at 50 yards.
The wind went from 0 on first target to left to right and increasing as I shot the second and third groups

Right side top CCI SV at 50 yards no wind. Example of ammo vs group size SK vs CCI.

Right side bottom SK Std+ at 100 yards left to right wind. I didn't dial the drop. Did a 1 shot test then held the next 4 shots over.

IBI 22" with the schnooble end, 0.86" body OD then 0.925" OD for the last 2.5". Spiral fluted.
Installed in a KRG Bravo chassis.

Better ammo will probably tighten those groups significantly. IF you can find any... Try SK Rifle Match, seems to be the only one readily available.

It is always a lottery when it comes to barrels, regardless of manufactures. Some are better than others, you pay your money, you take your chances.

I have a T1X as well that shoots fantastic with a few different lots and levels of Eley ammunition. I’ve discussed going aftermarket with the barrel but the factory one shoots so well I can’t justify it for the little bit of shooting I do being mostly myself on paper and the odd benchrest local match.

If I was heavy into prs I’d honestly be using a different setup all together.
