another option would be the BR550 from Rizzini. I've had excellent luck with mine so far and IIRC, it is to scale. Then how about the Fausti Dea! super little sxs made to scale that feels like waltzing around the field with a broom stick in your hand. My first 28 sxs was actually a CZ Ringneck. Way too much gun for the dollar!! Made to scale and complete with barrel selector and ejectors.
You might have figured out by now that I am a bit of a 28 ga nut. I have also had the Weatherby sxs(not to scale), a Ugartachea, and Zabala Hermanos (both to scale), and Tony Galazan's CSMC-RBL models made for the rough grouse society. The RBL was a fantastic little gun, but unfortunately I traded it off many years ago as the fit was not quite right for me. I cant recall if it was made to scale, but people who enjoy superb workmanship, engraving, and case color hardening, not to mention the grade of walnut they matched it all up with, will apreciate the RBL and TRY to make it work for them.
Another excellently done sxs that I had until I gave it up for poor fit, was the little Chapuis. Again, lovely selection of wood, very tastefull ornate metal work, but in shotguns, fit is everything.
The more I type, the more I have come to realize how bad this sickness is. Not sure if i'll die with it or from it! Gonna have to take a break and wait for someone to start a thread on o/u guns!
If you want a good starter, then one of the Huglu guns will get you going and then I would happily recommend the BR550 from Rizzini. Most of European makers do good quality work but be warned, they all offer the start to a gateway vice that will have you doing reviews en masse!
